Description
If you haven't checked out my mostly complete "ASSAILSIN - ASSASSIN STYLE PSYKER" build, take a look! I'm very proud of what it's becoming. It's still in testing, but it's an absolute speed demon (easily outrunning Zealots and Veterans under the right conditions).
This build however is a (literal) 12:00am, midnight thoughts build. If you aren't familiar with me or my style, it's taking the Psyker and completely defying the squishy, backline caster stereotype and making it a viable skirmisher.
Primary Weapon: For this build, we're going to stick with the Dueling Sword. Provides high mobility and very strong weakpoint strikes, even against armored enemies (due to Uncanny Strike).
Secondary Weapon: Instead of using the Zarona Quickdraw Revolver (as seen in my Assassin Build), we will be opting for the Accatran MK XII Recon Lasgun. The reason for this is because this is a hybrid build. While the Assassin is designed for a quick, one-shot revolver pop to an elite and straight into lightning fast melee, this build is designed to adapt to whatever is necessary.
Curios: Good news! These remain the same!
Blitz: We're also keeping this the same with Assail!
Combat Aura: We're also keeping this the same with Prescience for that sweet extra +5% crit chance, which stacks nicely with both weapons.
Combat Ability: This is where the biggest shift in gears comes in. Instead of being a one-man army with Scrier's Gaze, we'll be bringing a very useful tool to the team: Telekine Shield (Dome). This will protect you and your teammates from gunners as well as provide toughness replenishment. You'll want to use this as often as possible, especially if you're waiting on data interrogations, in open terrain with no cover, or approaching a bottleneck in the map where there's nowhere to run.
Typical Combat Loop: Throw Assail shards until peril is close to 100%, then swap to your Lasgun to continue clearing hoards. Once peril is lowered, swap back to Assail. If enemies get to close, comfortably dispatch them using your Dueling Sword.
This build is also a work in progress and has yet to undergo some testing and tweaking. I will be updating this build and my other build regularly, as often as I have the opportunity to playtest.
