New plasma gun might be one of the strongest per shot horde clear weapon in the game. Rumbler still wins over this. While very ammo hungry, the MkIII plasma gun is fantastic at blowing up hordes and pretty good at sniping elites and specialists. the crit blessing could probably be swapped for something better since crits don't do much extra damage. your 2 flex nodes would probably be galv coating and adaptive combat engram, if you want to be a true sigma and get more ranged dmg, or noospheric command. knife and chord claw is such a fun combo. knife enables you to position yourself to use the plasma gun as well as close the gap when you need to chord claw.  and the plasma gun can help enable one of the biggest strengths of the MkIII combat knife, specialist killing. not meta at all, but, blowing up hordes with the plasma gun is very satisfying and one of my favorite things to do in this game. also could be contender for one of the strongest "all-rounder" build with the ability to blow up bosses, hordes, elites and specialists when using everything well. also fun glitch with plasma gun heat build-up and auto reload perk. just do the first animation of the reload and then the gun will permanent stay in the cooling heat state allowing for you to ignore the heat mechanic on the gun. kinda fun but not really that useful.
