Sword of the Emperor:

Lightning fast Psyker that one shots most elites in melee (applies flame on weak spot hit, if not one shot until one shot conditions can be met), destroys bosses, has great CC, melts hordes and shines in the mid to backline. Be ready to face a few more gunners in the front line after following this guide, because we're not taking beloved Venting Shriek today.

Step 1: Apply fire to those you want to see perish with Rifthaven Mk II Inferno Force Staff.

Step 2: Hit Scrier's Gaze when at or near 100% peril and secondary attack with Rifthaven Mk II Inferno Force Staff until Warp Unbound is active, or before Scrier's Gaze ends to be safe.

Step 3:

Option a) Quell if needed and hit Scrier's Gaze again to keep cooking heretics well done.

Option b) Charge into melee to heavy attack elites and light attack trash mobs.

A more in depth description to come along with additional flex talent points. The key is burn away the horde as it approaches and enter melee when it is forced upon you or the squad. As long as flame stacks have been applied to mostly everything in range with Rifthaven Mk II Inferno Force Staff, it is time to hit Scrier's Gaze and gaze straight into the crusher's soul as you overhead him before he or his friends can stretch those meaty arms. You are very, very fast if Disrupt Destiny and Scrier's Gaze are up. DO NOT use this to run ahead of your team (maybe a little). Use the speed instead to search for more targets for Disrupt Destiny (sprint-slide- heavy swing, is great for gunners). Or, go ahead and cleave that fire sword through everything in sight and charge up a special attack to clear the room. The build's key two points are flame stacks from many different sources including the greatsword itself, and huge crit damage across the board.

The biggest downside is range; however, Brain Rupture is the go to for snipers, and such as long as there is time to rupture. If there's no time to brain burst, find cover and repeat the steps above until either:

a) Enough speed is built up from Disrupt Destiny + Scrier's Gaze combo to reach the out of range targets safely in melee.

b) Your Covenant Mk VI Blaze Force Greatsword's special attack has been fully charged to clear a path/ give your team breathing room to take out the ranged enemies, while you continue to burn and chop (if the special attack didn't kill them).

Rifthaven Mk II Inferno Force Staff will be your best friend at the end of the day for ranged when all is lost. Because we have Warp Unbound, primary attack spam is allowed on the shotgunner, gunner, or trapper to keep them at bay as we approach them at Mach 50. Anything that cannot be reached by flame staff like a reaper should promptly receive the point of a flame sword in their face after some calculated dodges/pushes or have their head popped from afar.

If you are feeling too squishy, drop Warp Speed and add One with the Warp for constant toughness damage reduction. You will be slower if Disrupt Destiny is not active, however it will give more room for error while in packs of melee enemies. Scrier's Gaze gives toughness damage reduction too, along with toughness replenishment, so be sure to use it as an overshield of sorts also.. if you choose to go max momentum with Warp Speed. Personally, I run One with the Warp instead as any trash mob over havoc 30 can ruin your day by occasionally swinging through flame staff attacks. The difference in speed is not that noticeable, since most of it is coming from Disrupt Destiny and Mettle.

The goal was to make flamestaff fun, as shriek is very powerful but after many hours, boring to use. Using this build, you should be able to weaken mobs easily with flamestaff and charge up a greatsword special within seconds. Think of yourself as a battering ram sitting in the backline constantly recharging/ hammering forward with a combination of flames in backline, greatsword special attacks from back to midline, greatsword heavy attacks to one shot or stagger armor in frontline, and finally falling back again to provide cover with flamestaff. By the time you return to the backline you should have Scrier's Gaze again to be able to repeat.
