Description
Trying to get as close to a skyrim spellsword as possible. You can slash, cast, and shout.
Melee Weapon:
The purpose of the Illisi is to be our generalist mixed-armor horde-clear. You want warp resistance to be as low as possible. The best is if you find one where you can upgrade every other stat to max and then STOP upgrading it. Keep that warp res as low as possible.
Blessings: Slaughterer does very well in Illisi thanks to its role of mixed horde clear. H1 L2 repeat. Deflector is very nice utility that helps not only when out of position (which you should be a better gamer for, not rely on this necessarily), but also pairs really well with kinetic deflection for the double block cost reduction. Although you don't block ranged fire while reviving teammates, the super reduced block cost that has to first exhaust peril makes for easy revives. One of these can be swapped out for uncanny strike.
Ranged Weapon:
This is much more flexible. I chose electrokinetic because it has more critical bonuses and helps a little with armor. Use left click more because surge only works on that. It's a pretty good ranged target eliminator. It also has huge suppression. Others options that can work are maybe Warp Flurry Rending Shockwave Voidblast force staff to help with armor more. Might be good to throw a few of those down on packs with crushers to soften them up before going into melee. This lowers your ranged DPS considerably though. The game has less crushers than before now, so carapace removal isn't THE most important thing anymore.
Gameplan:
You can do lots with this sword. The push attack works in a huge area with huge stagger. Push back hordes, trigger pox bursters to burst from a mile away (and launching them a mile away in the other direction), disrupt crushers and bulwarks.
Heavy 1 Light 2 repeat is your best horde clear. Try to use the special attack for a few of those Heavy 1s. This will improve cleave plus, as special attacks count as warp attacks/kills, it will activate Malefic Momentum to improve your sword damage by a lot. You'll get full stacks of malefic momentum going both ways with this playstyle, boosting your normal melee and special melee attacks. Plus while you do this, Kinetic Flayer will be activating on random elites which will start soul blaze cascades through Perilous Combustion. Those cascades spread surprisingly far and sometimes proc kinetic flayer on random trappers and dogs behind you somehow to save your bacon.
Venting Shriek is not to be spammed as much if you go with Disrupt Destiny. It should be used mostly as a get-out-of-jail card during rough, cornered situations. It can be used proactively if you're confident that its usage will win a decisive fight and that you won't need to worry about overloading for a bit after you use it.
Highlights:
Crits:
- Crits:
- Mettle, Perfect Timing, Souldrinker, Prescience, and Disrupt Destiny come together to really boost your crit rate and damage, plus give you some extra toughness regen and movespeed which really helps survivability and battlefield dominance.
- Malefic Momentum:
- Very easy to keep at max 5 stacks both ways with Illisi. Special attacks benefit from warp damage and give +25% normal damage boosts. Normal sword swings benefit from normal damage and give +25% warp damage. This is a surprisingly high amount of damage for a surprising amount of time at 10 seconds for a single blue node.
Flex Points:
- Empyric Shock vs Warp Splitting vs Wildfire vs By Crack of Bone:
- You have the ability to pick any one of the perks on this row. The main competition is between Warp Splitting and Empyric Shock.
- Warp Splitting: Higher focus on melee. This one is probably best.
- Empyric Shock: Higher focus on ranged damage. Does very well with electrokinetic force staff
- Wildfire: From the uptime mod, you already get 80% souldrinker uptime anyways. Probably not a good node.
- By Crack of Bone: Not good here. Maybe if you went with scrier's gaze instead.
- Keystone:
- Could go with Warp Siphon instead. That would provide less melee damage output, but you get to use Venting Shriek much more. Could make up for the lack of direct damage with more soulblaze stacks everywhere. Also provides more safety due to being able to spam it willy-nilly. You can use Venting Shriek much more proactively as an aggressive tool rather than mostly saving yourself from getting overwhelmed or exploding. Both keystones prodivde utility through speed bosts or mass knockback. Both provide damage. One provides it in bursts while the other is more consistently up.
