Brief Overview

This might not be the most optimized veteran build out there (especially when it comes to the weapons. I'll have to keep experimenting with those and tweaking them until I find a setup I'm comfortable with), but it's been working for me on AM and Havoc assignments, so I thought I'd share it with others who might be interested. If I can get a recording of an AM or Havoc mission with this build in the future, I will post it here, so you can see it in action.

This build is primarily focused on frontline melee combat with an emphasis on clearing hordes.

General Tips

  • Be sure to use the special action on your Lawbringer Mk IIb Power Falchion whenever possible to increase the strength of your attacks, avoiding overheating whenever possible.
  • Swapping off of your power falchion will automatically disable its charge, so be sure to do this when you can to save time.
  • Be sure to mark high-priority targets or elites/specials you or a squadmate are about to kill for up to +10% damage from Redirect Fire!.
  • Use Voice of Command pretty much off cd whenever your squadmates are within range (9m) and are currently engaged (which should be most of the time on higher difficulties) for the gold toughness. This could be a lifesaver for your squad if something like a poxburster manages to sneak through and detonate on top of you.
  • Use Shredder Frag Grenade on large, condensed hordes of enemies for stagger, damage, and applying bleed stacks to more durable enemies. Demolition Stockpile and Demolition Team ensure that you always have a steady supply of charges regardless of how lucky you are with grenade pickups, so use these liberally.
  • Ranged weapon is the part of this build that I think needs the most refinement. I'm currently using the Accatran Mk VIc Recon Lasgun as a nice middle-ground between specialists and ranged horde clear, but I'm not entirely satisfied with the way this fits into the build currently, so you can freely swap this for any ranged weapon you prefer. Good alternatives are: M35 Magnacore Mk II Plasma Gun Zarona Mk IIa Quickdraw Stub Revolver
  • Curios listed are intended for personal survival and supporting your squadmates if/when they go down. I would highly recommend leaving the perks as is (especially the CAP and Revive Speed), but you may adjust these as well to best fit your playstyle and needs. Some good alternatives are stamina regen, Bomber DR, Toughness.
  • Can freely swap blitzes and/or auras as mission or squad comp dictates.

Good alternative talents

Remember that the same coherency aura from multiple squadmates does **not** stack, so feel free to swap to Fire Team (ideally) or Close and Kill to maximize your coherency effectiveness in squads with 1 or more other veterans.
