Talent Tree
Description
With the introduction of the Cruncher and the Thugshot and the upgraded tree Ogryn received a massive upgrades that have made the already strong frontline Ogryn even more potent.
The Cruncher is an insanely powerful weapon. Unstoppable Force is what really makes this weapon shine, even if the tooltip is a bit misleading. Unstoppable force has a hidden effect which allows for it to cleave through carapace (still taking into account hitmass) with any heavy, not just fully charged heavies. We combine this with Hammerblow , Slam , and the Great Cleaver talent to cleave through mixed hordes with ease and knock everything on its ass. It is the ULTIMATE cc weapon for Ogryn and makes handling hordes of any size an absolute breeze. Throw in some bleeds from Batter and your damage is going to be VERY respectable while also keeping your team very safe. You can also do some full charged heavies for an absolutely massive swing that ignores all carapace and hit mass although i recommend charging the hammer and using Loyal Protector in the middle of the charge to take advantage of the stun to finish charging your heavy safely.
The Thugshot is the ultimate side arm for the melee Ogryn. It absolutely deletes any specialist that is getting in the way of your melee action. We run Pierce because the tooltip on this is also bugged. It says that the special attack gets +25 impact and ignores hitmass bonuses from armor which on the special attack is essentially pointless since we don't use the special. But, these bonuses are actually applied also to the regular shooting. You can cleave through entire hordes with ease essentially turning this weapon into a rail gun. Run 'n' Gun is there to increase the effective range of the weapon.
The talent tree got some major updates now too. You are now able to take essentially every talent than increases your damage. The most notable talent that we are able to pick up now is Hard Knocks which will be increasing your teams damage significantly. Additionally you're going to be taking Payback Time, Soften Them Up, Beat Them Back, Bonebreaker's Aura, and several other talents that boost your damage to extremely respectable levels despite being able to CC everything for your team. If you want to increase your damage a bit more you're welcome to swap Delight in Destruction for Crunch! although I have not found it to be too impactful.
The nerf to CDR has made me swap over to CDR reduction on my curios but feel free to swap those for revive speed if that's your preference.
Attack Pattern:
Mixed horde- H1 -> H2 or PA -> H1 -> H2
Single Target- Special
