Description
Well-rounded melee-focused Auric-viable Skitarii build. Focuses on melee combat with the high finesse bonuses of the Mechanicus Power Sword with the Chordclaw and Blast Pistol to cover weaknesses. Respectable damage output and survivability. You will need to rely on system mechanics to defend yourself.
Branx Mk VI Mechanicus Power Sword has an awkward transition into its CC combo but that combo loops forever once you get into it. L1/L2 stabs are very fast and can oneshot Gunners and Shotgunners on a crit headshot, with L3 being slower but having a slight amount of cleave. Headshot L1/L2 can stagger an incoming Rager, making it a great anti-Rager weapon. Heavy attacks are rarely used due to their slow speed but have better armor penetration if not revved up; otherwise use L1/L2 block cancel loop and aim for the face.
Powered L1/L2 stabs can stagger Ogryns, Maulers, and Ragers, making it great for closing the distance before they can get an attack off or to keep them down. The rest of the powered attacks are never worth it, avoid them. Damage bonus is not as necessary as the control, but 60% Power Output is still high enough to oneshot a rager on a crit headshot. MPS is not great versus groups of carapace armor; in these cases whip out the Chordclaw to deal with them. It's also good to just whip out any time you see more than one elite in the same spot.
Branx Mk XI Phosphor Blast Pistol is your secondary. I find myself swapping to it often. Surprisingly accurate on its first shot when not ADS'd. Will oneshot non-mutant specials and even (shot)gunners on a headshot. Large AoE and armor penetration also makes it ideal to soften up groups of carapace before closing in or to make space if surrounded. This weapon is incredibly fast to whip out and fire, and you should be doing it often.
Tree is selfish and focused on maximizing damage output and survivability. You can take a point off of Higher Purpose and put it on Kinetic Energy Distributors instead if you want more durability at the expense of less Chordclaw. Servo-Skull is utility for objectives and can occasionally shoot a dog off of you or murder a sniper while you pay attention to something else. Don't worry about that thing too much.
