JoeRobman’s Infernus Automatic Vet

Keep the grenades moving, keep shouting, and keep priority enemies tagged with Focus Target. The Accatran Mk XII Recon Lasgun is your main damage weapon; the Catachan Mk III Combat Blade is your movement and defensive escape weapon. This is a highly automated setup built around my Input Mod.

This is a difficult build to play well: very squishy, very powerful, and capable of very high DPS. Triple stamina curios give you a long offensive window, but positioning mistakes are punishing. The automation reduces repetitive inputs; you still need to read the fight, manage stamina, and choose safe moments to commit.

The core loop is simple: walk and fire, save stamina for worthwhile aimed bursts, let Infernus burns finish wounded enemies, and switch to the knife when you need space. Spend replenishing Krak grenades instead of sitting at full inventory.

The three-mod combination

All three mods are by JoeRobman and are posted on Nexus Mods. Input Mod is the centerpiece: automatic shooting, automatic Voice of Command use, and automatic Focus Target tagging reduce the repetitive inputs and help keep the tagged-target benefits active. Grenade throws remain a tactical choice for shields, armor, and clustered threats.

Input Mod’s Slide Movement is particularly helpful when you get boxed in. With the relevant directions enabled, use your movement arrow keys to slide away from enemies and open an escape route without having to hold your run button for those directional slides. Combine that repositioning with the knife’s mobility, pushes, blocks, and your normal dodges to keep yourself as safe as possible. Use it when you need space, then return to walking so you can save stamina for the next aimed burst.

HUD Mod is especially useful with Demolition Stockpile and Demolition Team. With Pulse Yellow at Full Grenades enabled, all grenade icons blink/pulse yellow together when your replenishing grenade inventory is full. That is your reminder to throw one and make room for the next replenishment. The reminder stops once you spend a grenade.

Field Awareness makes outlined priority enemies easier to locate in a busy fight. Combined with Input Mod’s automatic Focus Target tagging, this setup feels almost unfair: identify the threat, keep the tag pressure going, and pour the Recon into the weak spot. Tagged kills activate Target Down! for stamina/toughness and Redirect Fire! for the damage buff. Tagging a boss helps damage, but its kill-triggered rewards arrive when it dies.

Why stamina matters

Both weapons have +2 Stamina, and all three curios have +3 Max Stamina. Each curio also carries +4% Combat Ability Regeneration, +5% Toughness, and +12% Stamina Regeneration. Together the curios give +9 maximum stamina, +12% ability regeneration, +15% toughness, and +36% stamina regeneration. The three toughness perks recover a useful chunk of toughness while all three main blessings stay dedicated to stamina.

Deadshot adds critical chance while aiming, at a stamina cost. Shock Trooper makes las-weapon critical hits consume no ammunition. Opening Salvo and Reciprocity supply additional conditional crit chance, so the high-crit fire hose depends on stamina and active buffs; simply aiming does not guarantee a permanent 60%+ crit chance.

In my gameplay, a full stamina bar and a good horde can produce roughly two or three magazine-equivalents of Recon fire before reloading. Treat that as an example of the build at work, rather than a fixed result for every encounter. Free shots still leave the gun and deal damage; they do not spend ammunition from the magazine.

Walk whenever the fight allows it. Use hip-fire bursts for scattered enemies and breaks between aimed bursts to recover stamina. A larger pool extends your aimed firing window; stamina-regeneration perks do not make uninterrupted Deadshot aiming self-sustaining.

Exact weapons

Accatran Mk XII Recon Lasgun, power 500, Transcendent. Damage 80%, Ammo 80%, Collateral 80%, Stability 80%, Mobility 60%. Perks: +2 Stamina while the weapon is active; +5% ranged critical strike chance. Blessings: Dumdum IV (+6% close-range damage per repeated-hit stack, up to five) and Infernus IV (four burn stacks on a critical hit, up to twelve).

Catachan Mk III Combat Blade, power 500, Transcendent. Damage 80%, Finesse 80%, First Target 80%, Mobility 80%, Penetration 60%. Perks: +2 Stamina; +20% Block Efficiency. Blessings: Mercy Killer IV (+60% weak-spot damage against bleeding enemies) and Flesh Tearer IV (eight bleed stacks on a critical hit).

Penetration is the knife’s dump stat. Its main jobs are movement, blocking, pushing, stabbing an escape route, and leaving bleeds behind while you get past enemies. Flesh Tearer applies the bleed; Mercy Killer rewards weak-spot hits against targets that are already bleeding.

Exact curios

Run three +3 Max Stamina curios. Each has +5% Toughness, +4% Combat Ability Regeneration, and +12% Stamina Regeneration. The supplied example is Gilded Fragment (Caged), power 430, Transcendent. The editor stores bonuses as ranges; use these exact values when assembling the build in game.

Hordes, armor, and shields

Use aimed Recon fire against a solid target or mass of targets. You do not always need to keep shooting until the health bar is empty: Infernus can finish enemies that already have a substantial burn stack. Onslaught helps sustained fire against a single armored target, while Precision Strikes rewards weak-spot hits.

If you hear the Recon clinking against a Bulwark or another solid shield, stop feeding it ammunition. Throw a Krak grenade, move for an exposed angle, or attack something you can actually damage. In my experience, shield-heavy encounters are the biggest interruption to this build’s ammo efficiency.

For boss shield bubbles, use the knife when it is safe or brief hip-fire bursts while teammates help break the shield. Save your stamina-heavy aimed stream for the exposed boss, then focus the weak spot and let the burns work. In my gameplay, some large bosses go down with about a magazine and a grenade once their shields are down; boss type, difficulty, buffs, and teammate damage change the result.

Keep shouting, keep tagging, keep the grenades cycling, and preserve enough stamina to turn the Recon back into a fire hose when the next worthwhile target appears.
