I want to make better use of Force Distribution Actuators and Voltaic Burst . Although not the most powerful, I feel they are a little too underappreciated and they make for you to much more comfortably use the Branx Mk VI Mechanicus Power Sword to the best of your abilities by having the more time to line up and charge up shots due to electricuting or knocking over enemies on push. I thought Voltaic Burst only stunned one enemy, but it stuns all enemies in front of you (at least).
The last 3 perk points are up to debate for me and I will test between these two setups:
- Sureshot Cogitator Sync - +25% weakspot damage, especially good for power sword weak spots
- Residual Current Buffer - +10-17.5% toughness dmg reduction
- Sequenced Charge - +12.5% strength
VS:
- Weakness Analysis Doctrine - +10% damage
- Kinetic Energy Distributors - +5% toughness/second for 5 seconds (+25% total)
- Adaptive Combat Engram - +30% damage reduction
Or some combination of all of these and maybe replacing one of them for Retribution Conduit which can be nice since you'll be stunning people through crits and pushes.
The first combo has higher damage and more consistent, yet weaker survivability. The second combo only gets +10% damage (to everything at least), but the combo of kinetic energy distributors and adpative combat engram creates a very tanky backstop that makes it very hard for you to go down. When you need it most, you suddenly get an IV blast of toughness regen that can't be suppressed due to how much damage reduction you have from Galvanized Coating and Adaptive Combat Engram together.
My philosophy about this game has shifted from just going to max out damage to handling edge cases better. You'll eventually take all enemies down from whacking them enough, but you need to be alive to do it. You can just get +X% more damage, or you can get entirely new utilities for defense/CC like electrocuting enemies, throwing them back, suddenly becoming tanky and unkillable, etc. You don't just do more damage with these perks, you get to fight more unfairly.
