I've always wanted to enjoy Psyker, but I only ever really liked the Smite build. A lot. So when I was consistently completing Havoc 40s with my buds, I was really disappointed whenever I swapped to Psyker, only to end up spamming my staves because they're just so damn strong.
This build SHOCKINGLY works. Very well, too. As long as enemies can be debuffed, you will ALWAYS get the most lesser enemy kills, and your damage won't spill over into overkill too much, so although a bit slow, it wipes out hordes relatively efficiently. If you like the classic Psyker, you can also take the staves, but I found myself loving the lightning spam, only using melee to fight off Crushers or to dash from place to place. The gun is there because I like the idea of a Psyker using a gun.
This build is a left-click and dodge simulator, and god damnit, I like it. I've never had so much fun bouncing from side to side like I'm the hive scum while watching my screen get covered in purple. When I won multiple Havoc 40s in a row with all my friends while using lightning 99% of the time, I realized this is actually somewhat viable. Won't win you any trophies, but it's cool and different in a Havoc 40 full of repetitive meta builds.
Your job, sir Psyker, is to sit in a nice, tidy corner and zap the shit out of all the hordes until they stop moving. Your teammates take out the elites while you kill all the chaff. That's kind of it, to be honest. It's cool like that.
You'll genuinely get like 15-20 seconds of screen-wide pause as this build just entirely stops everything in its track. Obviously, you need a balanced team, it won't carry you.
