Scintillan Fusilier dismounted engagement support platoon - How to turn your space FAMAS into a perma-crit machine

This build isn't anything original or special, it is a mix of different popular builds that I have decided to mix together. My goal at first was trying to roleplay my character as a noble guardsman from Scintillan, the haughty, noble, pre-revolutionary French regiments that are pampered by the Departmento Munitorum to have the best gear, and as such act as both commandos and support troops. If you want to act like a superior space Frenchman, give it a try.

I manage to play this build easily and without a sweat on Auric and Maelstrom Auric, and managed to play up to Havoc 20 - I didn't reach Havoc 40 because I am bored for this mode, so if any person much better than me at the game can use it, I would love to have your opinion.

The most important thing with this build is to make massive use of the Focus Target! keystone by being comfortable with your 'ping' keybind ; I don't know why but some players, even at Auric level, don't ping that often when it is a big team help, and there, the keystone will not just be a neat bonus - it will be THE lifeline of your gameplay!

The Accatran Mk XIV Recon Lasgun is the best Recon Lasgun of the game, at least for the veteran class, much, much better suited at most engagement than the MkXII. BigDom made a pretty interesting video about that ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1JAW76CXEo ) but basically the idea is that your superior cleave means you can fire through the chaff to reach elites and specials, and stack up Infernus on everything that moves, big and small. Deadshot is of course your main source of critical hit to increase both stagger and burn stacks, though Reciprocity and the +5 crit of your lasgun will also increase your potency : you're basically looking at 42% crit chance just by aiming down the sight, yet the slower rate of fire of the Mk14 Recon Lasgun compared to its other models is actually a GOOD THING - you are draining your stamina much slower and that allows you to basically never run out of Deadshot!

Target Down! is a tiny node and yet it is what makes the gameplay loop so satisfying. Look at any enemy group, tag a specialist or an elite, aim down the sight and start bursting and bursting - no matter who kills your pinged target, you recharge 30% stamina thanks to Focused Fire and as soon as your elite/special is killed you can immediatly ping another one right the next instant. Onslaught manages to add so much stacks of Brittleness in a quick fashion that you're not even scared of Carapace armour, which is why I don't even bother using Bring it Down! ; as for monstrosities or unyielding enemies, Infernus does the rest of the work for me.

Infiltrate is a very interesting node because you can use it all alone without any other investment, and your curios adding quicker charge means you can rely on it pretty often. I love using Infiltrate to be an active member of the squad - the "Engagement" part of my roleplay. 8 seconds of infiltration are more than enough to go rescue a comrade, do a data-analysis, or, when you are surrounded and can't deal with all the enemies around you, you can go invisible and start using your improved Shredder Frag Grenade all around you - if you use the secondary fire, the low lobing, you don't actually break infiltration ! You absolutely can go invisible in the middle of maulers and crushers, drop grenades that are recharged easily by Demolition Team and Demolition Stockpile, allowing you to stagger them all on the ground, make them bleed, and then help your team pick them up with your deadly pings and your brittleness/infernus stacking FAMAS! Krak or smoke grenades could work good also, Veteran's blitz are all kinda good, but I like using the classic frag as they make up for the weaknesses of the build, that is poor horde management at close range.

Close and Kill is a preferred aura because it spares stamina and allows you to reposition yourself more easily. Ideally with the build, you want to use your lasgun as much as possible, and melee only as a last resort.

Yet as you can see you still have plenty of meleeing nodes. The Maccabian Mk V Duelling Sword is not a very usual mark of the Duelling Sword, but I like it because the defense stat basically increases massively your melee survivability. 5 dodges instead of 4 and increased stamina managment of the run allows you to either flee like a coward when you can't deal with too much enemies (How very French ?...) OR on the contrary jump into the fray mindlessly when you are ready to duel an enemy (How very French ?!). I hesitated a lot for the perk, but I think increasing crit chances along with Desperado is the right move, because it can then activate Exploit Weakness - you basically have 25% native crit chance, that allows you even when your Focus Target stacks run out to swich between light critted bashings if you're stuck on a horde, or do some quick big slashes to focus on a target. Trench Fighter Drill is maybe a bit too much, but I think it makes the meleeing more comfortable and allows you to more quickly rely on Thrust ; The MkV still does a decent number of headshots to accompany Uncanny Strike so you are able to deal with big armored guys, while you can dodge and hit mutants, and of course, the Duelling Sword's parry mean you can both block and strike back at ragers ! Just hold down the block button and from time to time, while still blocking, hit your secondary attack button and you'll do some light slashes, allowing you to survive against a rager horde until you get the opening with your ability, grenades or teammates to reposition.

Basically, this build is both highly survivable and yet a blessing for the team. Tell me what you think.
