Brittish knife bin

So do you want to take entire hordes by yourself?

Do you want plague ogryns to go cry in a corner after the amount of bullying you're about to give them?

Do you want to cosplay as a true bri'ish knife blender?
Do you like doing sustain damage instead of burst damage?
Do you want your fingers to hurt from the amount of clicking and dodging you will be doing?
This might be the build for you.

---PRE-REQUISITE:

So to start the only real prerequisite of this build is to be at least rank 10 (higher is better of course) and to have a combat knife with lacerate.
Note: you might be able to pull this off with flesh tearer if you like clicking on heads, but you will get better result either way with lacerate.

---SETUP:

So the idea behind this is that you body shot spam an enemy with your light attack until you hear the crit sound and then you will benefit from the following:
1. Bleed stacks that will eventually whittle down even bulwarks that keep facing you with their shield (if you hit the shield of bulwarks with lacerate it will still make them bleed)
2. Have a lot of toughness damage reduction from benediction and faith restored
3. Max stacks on Rising conviction because of the ticking bleed procs.

Congrats, you are now a tank that can and should stay between the team and the horde. Ogryns will tolerate your company more and the rest will be thankful to have an extra meat slab between danger and them.

---PERKS:

My final suggestions are already selected up there. This is more of a why.

TIER 1:

You will pick Faith Restored here. The build kinda depends on it.
Whole idea is to get increased crit chance from hitting bleeding targets so this should be up almost all the time.

TIER 2:

You will pick Bloodletting. Again the build depends on it.
This is what you use to keep building more bleeds to keep building more bleeds.

In theory you could kickstart the whole process just with this perk, but the knife helps A LOT.

TIER 3:

My suggestion here is to grab Benediction. Requires the least brain power and it's a decent buff.

Holy Fervor counts on you fucking up and taking damage. Even if that happens it's temporary for it to be worth it. Not current way to leech health.

Inspiring Excoriation Is only to be taken if your in a team that communicates and know what they are doing (because you might have another zealot running benediction and you guys stick together, ergo no need for you to take benediction) in order for you to play a bit more of a support role. If you plan and going pure solo do not touch this.

TIER 4:

IMO they are all good in certain ways.

Holy Revenant is good for when you inevitably get to your last health chip in order to build up some more. Remember that when you take damage during the effect, the damage eats up all the health you might've regened from Holy Revenant so again, dodge back and pull ur flamer out. You are bound to heal more this way.

Thy Wrath We Swift is when you are so confident that you will only get hit while at 100% toughness. This is when you truly master zealot. Congrats. Now you have the bonus of not only being an even bigger zoom then before, but also you don't get interrupted while hacking. Enjoy. You will only get to heal from medkits and medicae.

Faith Restores All is good when you further want to shut your brain off in order to focus on dodging and clicking. It will get you healed a bit and it's a good way to extend your life until your next medicae.

TIER 5:

Rising Conviction is the perk of choice here. The reason for this one is because it makes the most sense.
Emperor's Executioner is for ranged which you shouldn't be focusing on and Honour the Martyr implies you taking damage which you will but you should be avoiding not to mention you will mostly have RC up almost all the time.

TIER 6:

This is a tough one.
Let's get this first one out of the way. Fury Of The Faithful gives you attack speed. Trust me, you don't need it. Any more attack speed and your fingers will be begging for mercy.

Now on the one hand:
Invocation Of Death makes your dash charge up faster with each crit, which you will be doing a lot. So you will get your dash back pretty soon after you use it anyway.

On the other hand:
You wont be using your dash that much. You should be using it more as a tool to reposition so having Purge The WIcked in order to have 2 dash charges with independent cooldowns seems better in order to have 2 repositions asap. IOD might regen your dash pretty fast but it's not instant and you never know when you might need 2 dashes in a row.

Choice is yours really. See which one gives you a better feel in combat.

---POINTERS:

Like i mentioned above, bulwarks and any type of armor still get the bleed proc as long as it's not a head or weakpoint. Really really helpful against bulwarks mostly, so you should take priority on those. Keep applying the pressure on them. If possible try to turn them around with the back to your team so they can get in more damage.

If you're in melee distance of any enemy you should be dodging as much as possible. Even if you have a lot of damage reduction, dodging gives you 100%. And the combat knife allows you to dodge a lot (you have a dodge limit of 4-6 depending on the mobility roll). This is what allows you to basically solo plague ogryns.

There is a problem though. You do not create that much agro. You can't, your not doing cleave that much, so when there are a ton of elites and specials mixed in with the hoard, my best advice is to dodge back, throw a stun grenade, and pull your flamethrower out. As much as you can be the best knife blender in all UK, you're an even better Hans with his flammenwerfer.

No, grenades no longer apply bleeding. It's been fixed.

You should be using movement tech with this in order to be everywhere for your team.
It goes like this: heavy attack while sprinting and then slide just as you are about to do the jab in order to not get the slow down from the jab.
Be careful tho. Not everyone might have movement tech available to them. Don't leave your team behind. You're supposed to be a tank for them remember?

---GEAR STATS:

As for other stats on your weapons and relics, it's really up to you.

Let's start with relics:

Health
Resistances
Only +1 wounds. Don't need more. ( You shouldn't even be needing it but if you got it, then might as well)
You should not be taking toughness. You need to keep it at 100% and the more you have the harder it is to keep it there.

Melee:
Lacerate is a must.
Flesh tearer is a bonus and only should be taken second.
Any increased damage works, or even extra crit chance.
If they ever add increased crit damage or bleed damage, you should be going for that.

Ranged:
Anything works really, flamethrower is a good weapon no matter what, but showstopper is really good for the situations you will be using it.

---PLAGUE OGRYNS (and to a certain extent chaos slugs) AND YOU:

So you've become a toreador. Good because you will be best at it. Just like a bullfighter, you will skewer the boss, stacking up the bleeding to the point you will be doing 40 bleed damage per tick. While you do that you should most of the time dodge around the plague ogryn. The only time you should be dodging backwards is if he does his 3 hit combo. You will know this happens when he start aim botting in your direction. You should save your dash for when you get slammed away. YOU DO NOT want to make distance between you and the plague ogryn, because that will lead him into starting his charging attack and that can only get you even further away from your team. Your team should be handling any specials and elites and everything else that might spawn in the mean time and only then should they come and help you. You are on your own and you have the tools to handle this. Never stop left clicking and always be dodging.

As for the chaos slug, this is more of a ranged encounter mini boss. The only time it's safe for you to melee him is when ur behind him (be sure to dodge the tail swipe attack) or bellow him so you can hit him through geometry and cheese his stomp attack.

---END

Thanks for reading or skimming through the guide. Will prolly keep adding and modifying it, or to mark it outdated. It all really depends on what fatshark does to zealot. This build is already a shadow of it's former glory. Wouldn't be surprised if they kill it further.
