This high-spec build has extreme survivability, good mobility, and excellent solo target damage. Brutal momentum compensate for the natural lack of cleave on taxes and makes it easy as f to clear hordes. The high stagger from taxe heavies allows you to perma stun both crushers and ragers, which makes it an extremely versatile weapon.

___

Primary :

    - Taxe MKII : Out of the 3 taxes, the MKII is definitely the best choice when paired with brutal momentum. Its heavies have a lot of cleave, and you can stop your combo after 3 light to compensate for the short pause at the end of the 3hits auto combo. 3lights+block push also gives you 1 overhead and 2 diagonal slashes, which is perfect. Lastly, as said above, heavies spam can perma stagger crushers and ragers which is very useful when overwhelmed by mobs.

    - I'm not talking about combat axes in this specific build, but obviously since the last patch (#8), the MK2 has become the best caxe to use with BM. The mk5 is still good, but the mk2 has better attack speed and weakspot damage due to the higher finesse. If you wanna swap the taxe for a caxe, you can play it with the same crit build but only if you roll shred as a second blessing. Else, you won't have enough crit to keep Faith Restored active all the time.

Why a taxe instead of a combat axe ?  The attack speed passive that synergizes well with your zealot 10% AS passive, the good attack patterns, the greater mobility as well as a much better scaling on crit and weakspot dmg. As said above, the same build can also be played with a caxe mk2 or mk5 as long as you rolled shred. If you can't get shred, just swap the crit feats for a more ‘classic’ build (feats : 1 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 3)

Blessings :

    - brutal momentum : no need to explain why

    - shred : additional crit chance makes keeping Faith Restored active all the time much easier. It is also a sweet bonus to your dps.

You can change shred for decapitator if you want more armor penetration, or headtaker for more power, but only if you have 80% in crit stat. (so it's enough to keep faith restored running)

With shred, you get up to 57.5% crit chance. (5% from zealot base crit + 12.5% weapon base crit with 80% in stat + 10% from bleed feat + 25% from shred + 5% from crit chance perk)

___

Secondary :

    - Bolter for solo carry. It obliterates most of the elite mobs in a few bullets, and is the best AP tool the zealot has access to. It is also appreciated against crushers, since there are the only mobs you might take a long time to deal with a taxe. (taxe dps and ttk suck against carapace even with high crit).

    - Fire shotty mk9 : extremely high alpha damage allows you to take out elites very quickly during high pressure situations. The special has good stagger and can stack up burn very quickly. It also bypass bulwark's shield, and you only need 2 consecutive special hit for them to die from the burn. (3 for reapers)

    - Even post nerf, the flamer remains the best weapon to clear hordes. If your team has enough AP and something to stagger bulwarks and kill crushers fast enough, then flamer can be a good choice too.

Blessings :

    - Bolter : shattering impact + pinning fire for better breakpoints OR glory hunter for better survivability
    - Fire Shotgun (mk9) : no respite + death spitter
    - Flamer : blaze away + overpressure

Critlot : High toughness resistance with high crit chance. CD reduction on the dash ability is worth running with a crit taxe since it has the highest crit chance in the game.

This build works extremely well in hi5 shocktroop, although you would need to be quite reactive on your dodges.

Lastly, the combos are very easy and beginner friendly :
- 3 lights + block push is the basic combo. Good for horde clear, lot of stagger.
- you can cancel your combos with a block push whenever you need it
- spam heavy to perma stagger crushers and ragers
- obviously, don't forget to dodge frequently to position yourself correctly. Abuse the taxe mobility.
- keep your ability either to escape, rush a pack of ranged units, or burst down an elite/special. You can also use it to sustain your toughness when you are in a dire situation.
- Don't forget that crit reduces your dash cooldown thanks to the last feat. You can also play with the 2 dashes feat which is better with all other weapons, but since this build has the highest crit chance in the game, it's worth using the crit dash instead.

If played well, you'll (almost) never get hit by melee and it will be child's play to deal with these annoying guardsmen shooting at you from afar.
