This makes your Brain Bursts hit really hard and charge really fast while still making full use of the Purgatus. With Psionics active, pre-charging your BB will also be free.

Unarmoured on the staff makes it so you can deal with shooters when you cast Venting Shriek, kill the horde faster, and also things like Shotgunners. Maniacs will make Ragers easier to deal with. If hordes overwhelm you (don't forget you can dodge backwards while casting), then replace Maniacs with Infested. I run with either of those, I still handle ragers just fine without Maniacs. The armoured Ragers might be a bit harder to deal with, but with good CC management (left clicking to stagger them), alternating charged blasts with right click you will be fine. And you still have BB and melee weapons at your disposal with complementary perks.

Don't waste your time flaming Muties, Maniacs or no Maniacs, stab them with the Duelling Sword.

A Purgatus crits a lot, and Perfect timing will buff it. So you gain potentially 15% damage on the Purgatus.

You can also still use your Venting Shriek to accelerate your Brain Burst without worrying about Warp Charges. Psionics will buff your BB.

You can move some talents around, for example, you can drop Kinetic Flayer, most people don't like it. You could pick up Wildfire, if you wish. If there is already a Psyker with Seer's Presence then you could take Kinetic Presence.

I picked the Critical Chance boost, as crit procs double the amount of soulblaze stacks applied for that specific tick (in other words, a crit is 2 stacks of soulbaze rather than 1). That means you can put Maniacs and Unarmoured on your staff. But if you rather have some toughness talents, pick those instead.

You can swap the Wound curio for another Toughness or Stamina.

The video below has a Deimos, but the rest of the build is pretty much the same. I have updated the build since the video was recorded.
