Big tanky shield oggy - Shield special can perma block Demon hosts, keep back to a wall to make sure enemies can't sneak behind you.

Maul and Slab Giant aoe heavy attack, perfect for spreading bleed and CCing enemy hordes

Perks:

  • Flak - So many elites and harder to kill melee units are in this to ignore.
  • Maniac - Primarily to help kill Mutants, can be replaced with Unarmored or Unyielding for better horde or boss damage.

Blessings:

  • SkullCrusher - Only damage option
  • Confident Strike - not a lot of options on the weapon, let alone good ones. this one will help with getting toughness back vs groups since we are not running Best Defense

Gren Gauntlet  - arguably the best special/elite killing weapon Ogryn has now. Also with melee buffs is very strong at killing single targets using Heavy1>light 3 combo.

Perks:

  • Flak - All your ranged elites lets you body shot Gunners with 2-3 stacks of PinPoint.
  • Maniac - almost all your ranged specials, and mutants and lets you one shot body all but Mutants with 1-3 stacks of pinpoint.
  • Unyielding - possible perk if you are on Boss maelstrom modifier as weapon special, and heavy attacks do massive Monster damage.

Blessings:

  • Pinpoint - Incredibly powerful blessing, allowing for body shot breakpoints on almost all ranged enemies.
  • Blaze Away - Stacks during continuous melee attacks as well as ranged. Important as this is our primary single target killer. Can be changed for Shattering Impact.

You can replace Attention Seeker with Toughest! for more Toughness regeneration if desired. Attention Seeker does not apply Valuable Distraction. Mob shooters and shotgunners cannot shoot while taunted - forcing them into melee. Gunners Reapers, and specials can/will all use ranged attacks even while taunted.

The only way to apply SkullCrusher on Monster with your own kit is from your Bomb and your Loyal Protector. Valuable Distraction will increase damage Monsters take, and with Skullcrusher and Soften them up is a significant damage boost for you and allies.

Make sure to proc Dominate before throwing the Bomb when possible, as it will greatly increase damage to enemies who are "far" particularly Carapace.

Toughness Replenishment  appears to be exactly the same as Toughness Regeneration (why have two things that appear to be identical? I dunno.) and only impact regen from Cohesion. They are all additive multipliers off the base 7.5~ toughness regen per second, so this build will have 16~ toughness regen as long as you are not within 4m of an enemy which can be significant regenerating after getting hit by gunners or flame. Can easily be replaced with Sniper/Gunner resist.

HUGE
Currently Ogryn has a base of 36% (20% TDR and 20% health resist, which stacks with itself for damage taken to toughness) All the toughness reduction nodes stack additively (30% TDR), and also stacks additively with Feels no Pain for 55% TDR. Together being a passive 71.2% TDR which is crazy.
With 60% from Delight in Destruction 88.5% and just over 90% with Implacable
