Overview

Ogyrn build for shooting gun. Provides much needed ranged elite killing power, mixed horde control and high boss dps.

General Gameplay

Your role is to provide cover for your team mates by suppressing and killing ranged elites, disablers and specials. The Gorgonum is fantastic for stun locking melee elites as well, even if it doesn't do much damage.

Use Point-Blank Barrage (the alternate F ability) to cut through mixed hordes. Especially useful for dealing with Bulwarks and Crushers in the middle of a horde.

The real damage dealer is Light 'Em Up, which adds 2 stacks of burning for each shot while Point-Blank Barrage is active. This ability, combined with the Gorgonum can shred through anything, and is especially effective against Monstrosities and Bulwarks.

Finally I take the Big Friendly Rock as my grenade. This should be used whenever you need to quickly target a single elite and you are not currently firing with your Gorgonum. It can also one-shot mutants, which you should be abusing.

Weapons/Blessings/Perks

Your choice of melee is up to you, as this build is mostly focused on the gun. I would recommend a weapon that you can quickly switch to so you can deal with a horde in melee range. The Bull Butcher with Momentum is ideal.

Make sure to get Charmed Reload on the Gorgonum. This blessing is extremely strong and allows you to keep firing for a long time.

As Ogyrn, our toughness regen is quite high, so it is worth maxing out our toughness. Other perks come down to personal preference. I personally love being able to tank a whole pack of gunners while shooting them down with the Gorgonum, so I like to take the gunner resistance.

Tips/Tricks

  • Use rock to kill mutants
  • Use melee for emergencies
  • Use gun for everything else
  • Be very conscious of your ammo usage
    • The Gorgonum takes a lot of ammo to run, especially if you are the only member on your team providing ranged fire
  • Using Point-Blank Barrage will immediately switch your weapon to your gun, and fully reload it. Keep this in mind.
  •  (This may change in the future) Currently the increased fire rate from Point-Blank Barrage will remain as long as you keep holding down the trigger
  • If you have activated Point-Blank Barrage but there are not many enemies to kill, use the +70% reload speed to reload your gun
  • Firing the Gorgonum unbraced (i.e. not zoomed in) is still quite accurate. Useful if you feel you do not have time to zoom in
  • The Beast of Nurgle is very resistant to damage that is not in its weak spot. The fire stacks from Point-Blank Barrage will still do respectable damage to it from the front, but it is still better to go for the weak spot
