Prioritizing general utility over dedicated damage or gimmicks

Standard-issue Munitorum Sapper Shovel: perfect for poxwalkers and decent for everything else. if it doesn't kill in 2 hits you can be certain that you can keep it stunlocked, or for something like a crusher you have the extra impact special attack.

Zarona Mk IIa Quickdraw Stub Revolver: 5 shots, beeg damage. great for taking out the big boys of all sizes, the naturally high damage mixed with high crit chance, in this build you get at least 2 crits out of 5 shots when aiming down sights, kills most maulers in a magazine or less without ally auras. If you have the skills to pay the bills you can kill just about any elite and specialist with a single headshot, weaker ones (shotgunners and gunners) will die to headshots even with nurgle's blessing

Curios

really this is just for constant toughness regen, snipers and flamers put me in a pinch very often so i put their resistances in there too, if i could, i would replace both of them with rager resistance because you normally find them in waves of 6 or more and its very annoying to deal with, but overall this is just for keeping you well rounded and not glass cannoned

1st Tier

Volley adept: reload speed buff

Vanguard: sprint cost buff

Confirmed kill: toughness when killing big boys

Krak grenades

save ammo on crushers or maulers. bulwarks or reapers too if you don't have the time to aim

2nd Tier

Catch a breath: toughness regen between waves

Covering fire: further cohesion incentive

Survivalist

for dense specialist/elite environments, 2 coherency kills gives you one round, it adds up nicely when your mid horde and using the shovel on poxwalkers

3rd Tier

Demolition stockpile: infinite grenades

Leave no one behind: ally assistance buff

Voice of command

crowd control, help resupply ally toughness, push back maulers/ragers ganging up on your downed teammate (generally good enough to revive someone mid wave), aids you in solo engagements when isolated, stuns monstrosities.

4th Tier

Deadshot: extra crit chance, only using 5 shots so not as hindered by the stamina drain

Determined: i hate gunners so much

Reciprocity: when your fighting horse of pox, get some extra damage from dodges

Tactical Awareness: get cooldown from big kills

Born Leader: help the team with toughness

summary

generally speaking this build doesn't excel at anything in particular but it helps the team and you'll never have to worry about being that guy using stealth to get elite kills and then you solo the entire mission because the rest of your team died mid horde because they were 3 manning while you were doing emperor knows what.

got a crusher/mauler or three? throws the kraks and now hes dead, or there's less than there was before. they regenerate too so you can even waste them on monstrosities. if your not mid horde, take all the shots you can afford to, play whack-a-mole with the big boys and shovel the rest. mid horde? shovel all day long and do your part in controlling the crowd, if a big boy pops up in your face, whip out the gat piece and let him feel the emperors judgement, and get back to shoveling. you reload faster from elite kills, buff teammates and gain cooldown too, so you have all the incentive to lay down the law and stick with the team. EDIT: since the talent change i decided Tactical Reload wasnt worth it and replaced it with Determined for. (The only downside to this in my opinion is not having suppression immunity, gunner waves are very annoying but only if they're all aiming at you from across the map) New downside: without tactical reload your pretty risky at damnation difficulty, normally i have no problem shooting gunners or flamers from behind pox hordes, but now the risk is much higher since failing to get a kill in 5 shots means reloading at base speed, kind of sucks but i managed to survive with this build about as easily as before, but now i dont have to worry about gunners

NOTE

the video attached does not have determined perk, i think it does a good job of showing off how much suppression hurts this build
