TL;DR at the bottom.

 

BLAZE SWORD: two hits to weakspot to kill poxwalkers, groaners, scab and dreg shooters. good for creating space. your block should be able to tank monstrosities long enough to lose aggro

 

Powered up sword attack (special action) kill will give toughness back. 

 

Your reposte push (hold block then primary attack until hand blast fires) will knock over ragers (just make sure you have the stamina)

VOIDSTRIKE STAFF: HIGH CRIT CHANCE, use primarily for all things. 

 

All kills will give toughness. use mid to high charge at all times. double shot helps you focus down even crushers. fully charged shots will stagger crushers and bulwarks. aim for the head where possible to get value from true aim perk.

VENTING SHRIEK WITH SOULBLAZE:  85% peril or above you will stack 6 soulblaze. this will kill groaners, poxwalkers, dreg and scab shooters without further damage being applied.  

 

Venting will give you 25% toughness back from toughness on quell perk as well as toughness from anything that dies from soulblaze. (usually back to full toughness)

 

kill specials and elites for cooldown reduction and to spread fire from perious combustion. 

 

remember shriek applies soulblaze even through walls - USE on large hordes before they can even hit your team. also can be used to stagger if needed.

BRAIN BURST:  just used for The 10% chance on attacks. Applies to soulblaze DOTs as well as the voidball explosion. seems to target higher threat enemies primarily and can really reduce time to kill on many larger enemies. this can be swapped out for smite if preferred.

WARP SYPHON CHARGES: reduces your cooldown on venting shriek allowing for spam.

 

TL;DR

SUMMARY: staff for everything, shriek for large groups. sword if you need space or to block, focus down elites and specials as much as possible.
