Ever wanted to be a bloody battering ram like in Vermintide 2? This build seeks to emulate that playstyle a bit, but Ogryn-sized! Important thing to note: You work best when near allies (even if they're downed)! Six of the selected talents rely on what state your team is in, mostly if they're in coherency.
To start, your maul and shield will be the weapon you're going to be using the most. It blocks, it staggers, and takes a lot of punishment. Make sure to push and block to draw aggro away from your teammates, and with the weapon special, you can singlehandedly lock down choke points against hordes (watch out for specials!). Guard teammates who are doing objectives, no-sell attacks from Maulers and Crushers, and be the slab you were meant to be!
Secondly, your shotgun will be used for taking out elites and specials (the spread is a lot tighter than you think, more so when braced!), and thinning out hordes before crunching them in melee. Just make sure to account for reload time. If it doesn't kill the targets, it'll at least stagger them, save for monsters.
Additionally, your combat ability will be most effective when used against monsters, large groups of elites, and when you need to save a teammate. If a teammate is downed, or about to be, and you think you can rescue them, charge in! Follow up with a shotgun blast and switch to melee, a few heavy attacks should stagger and kill the heretics. If you think it won't be worth the risk, toss in a grenade, you have six for the price of one! It can deck most elites, and the ensuing blasts will chunk their health even more.
For stimms, health is always recommended, but combat and celerity are also welcome choices.
