Enemy gains 1-4 Stacks of Soulblaze on Critical Hit.
12.5-20% Critical Chance for 6s on successful Dodge.
4.5-6% Close Range damage on Repeated Hit. Stacks 5 times.
1-4 Burn Stack(s) on Critical Hit to a maximum of 3-12 Stack(s).
Wildfire and Souldrinker are taken and paired with the Blazing Spirit perk on the weapon to maximize synergy with soul blaze procs. In order to maintain a steady amount of peril, I take Psykinetic's Aura for higher uptime on Scrier's Gaze and team support. Feel free to use any of the coherency options.
By Crack of Bone and Tranquility Through Slaughter will give amazing uptime on Scrier's gaze, while also generating tons of toughness with the combination of Quietude, and Mettle. If you find yourself dealing with a ton of enemies with gaze on cooldown and low peril, use smite. If you need to quell peril quickly, spray your gun into some enemies first before smiting. The goal of these talents is to have as much uptime on gaze as possible while also giving the option of utility with smite, which I mostly use for bulwarks or stalling for a clutch revive. An extra toughness node is taken after Warp Rider to maximize the value of all the toughness generation psyker has.
This build is made to be as melee focused as possible, and I find that the recon XII lasgun works really well with its insanely fast fire rate and large clip size. This makes generating toughness through critical hits happen really quickly, and in an emergency can be used to mow down hordes of specialists or regular enemies. The long range of the weapon also makes handling snipers pretty easy which makes taking brain rupture a lot less necessary compared to other guns.
Infernus will also gain extra damage from the perks being used, and in this case it's Flak and Unyielding.
This build is featuring the Blaze force great sword, and for this build I'm using the Mark VIII because of its superior horde clear, while still having competitive single target. I'd encourage making use of the push-block attack with the Mark VIII, which is a strong stab attack. Blazing Spirit is a much more viable second option on this weapon compared to the other force swords and will assist with general damage and tying the build together. Feel free to run Shred over Riposte.
Besides cooldown reduction, there is a lot of preference here when it comes to curios, but generally I feel like maximizing toughness to be the best to get the most out of all toughness DR and regen being taken. One gunner resist is also here because I feel like I get toasted by them a lot of the time.
For havoc mode, having a survivalist veteran will feel really nice.
Don't be afraid to use Scrier's Gaze; if there is even a small reason you think you should use it, you should generally just press it.
This is mostly a build I made mostly for fun but found surprising success with it and is optimized with the new Havoc game mode in mind.
