This build is an all rounder build that should never feel weak in any situation. Contrary to several builds that goes one way or another, this one is an hybrid that does not trade too much for the flexibility and usefulness it has.
The club mk 3b is REALLY fast, coupled with impressive cleave and impact. It will put a lot of enemies on the ground while you swat them like flies. It allows to use more light attacks without feeling bad about it. This means you use your heavies only when you know that it will be required, while hordes and flak armored scabs can be dealt with very fast with light swings. It will have a frantic feel similar to how a Zealot is played.
With debuff on your weapon + Soften Them up + Taunts on push, the crowd will be constantly debuffed, on the ground, or looking at you instead of your team mates. This enables the group A LOT. Also, because the mk 3b has such high impact, most mobs will not be able to trade with you, meaning you are pretty safe.
The kickback is what complement your melee so well. It's a "sniper in disguise". It will kill most specialists and gunners in 1shot from pretty far away. You can test between Expansive and RunNGun (for the decrease spread). This means that you can dome specialists when they appear in a split second, and resume your horde clear. It will 1shot mutants if you wait for them to be 20-30 yards away. The gun also has impressive cleave, meaning that you don't mind if you have tons of walkers in front of the shot.
I'm perfectly aware that the curios will have weird looks here. Toughness Regen Speed is far from being string normally, but with the right setup, it seems to add up to the rest and do the trick. Combine this with the various other toughness source and you will always be topped off.
I'm able to do any Damnation, coupled with Maelstrom with relative ease. You will be useful to the team, while also feeling really strong.
Your only weakness is shared with a lot of people. Getting caught out in the open by several shooters. Apart from finding cover and shooting back, you will want gunner protection on your curios to soften the blows.
You will light attack a lot more than heavies, but it still depends on situations.
