You can take a damage drop for CC buff on the staff, by replacing Warp Nexus with Terrifying Barrage. We're going to be using health curios here, as the percentage of damage bleeding through toughness results in an instant death at higher levels, the moment your toughness drops below half.
This build is all about crits, warp/soulfire kills, and Warp Charges. Cycle blitz on cooldown (preferably above 70% peril). Keep staff out in combat. If facing Carapace or unyielding enemies, keep the burn going until they are within melee range, switch to sword and light chain weakspot hits to get rending stacks.
With bosses, I recommend you focus on protecting you team from hordes and elites, and let them deal with it. You will have to fight the boss at some point, so again, keep the burn going, switch to sword once close, chain light weakspot hits for those rending stacks. Though I recommend keeping distance from the chunder slug and use brain burst instead, as the corruption decimates your small health pool. You will struggle here, as the damage just never seems to apply very quickly.
