A build made because now that taunt is useful, I want to use it more! So figured I'd take some of my fav Melee weapons and go about using them with taunt! Having some taunt builds that actually use Heavy Hitter is worth having too, and especially with the Pixaxe which needs all the attack speed it can get. As I have many other builds at this point though, this one has some 'interesting' yet still very effective and fun weapon selections.I use the Pickaxe III as it actually functions pretty well, and works quite well with this 'more defensive' play style. It's bread and butter combo is a bunch of diagonals created by either heavy into light, or block attack into heavy into light, OR, double light/block attack into double light, which can then lead into a heavy if desired. It's got a lot of options, while also using Torment really well (unlike the Branx/la), since it does a 'pull toward you' technique that microstaggers most things, into a downward overhead that will either kill anything it hits, or leave it one quick follow up light attack away from killing it. This makes the Pickaxe feel quite enjoyable compared to it's more 'simple' Branx/la counterpart, and is a nice change of pace. Meanwhile the Twin-Linked Stubber IV is a result of me actually doing 'raw testing' with them and realizing it is the best at doing raw damage to monstrosities, for some reason. And it's like, by a decently large margin too. Thus, since this isn't a gun based build and thus doesn't have 'Point Blank Barrage' factoring in, I took it for once again, a bit of variety. Since I also took Steady Grip it's able to use Overwhelming Fire as well, making it even better at it's job. It also does good work against Bulwarks, as it just a few bullets with it's heavy caliber will result in a stagger (and when I say a few, I do mean like 3-4 bullets and the shield goes flying back), allowing you to just dump into their faces and drop them pretty quick, this extending to reapers too. Thus, I enjoy it for it's flavor, and also use it as an excuse to grab the rock (as my other pickaxe builds use the other two blitz's), so I can still deal with snipers/trappers/dogs/mutants and the like quickly. As this gun still takes an age even with the swap speed bonus to be braced and ready, so it's mostly worth only pulling out when you have the time to do so against far off targets/to start engagements.Beyond that, every other pick I'll leave the explanations in my other builds. I take Stay Close over Bonebreaker Aura as regardless of if you have it or not, it's one heavy into a light after a 'pull' in order to kill a mauler/crusher (as stated above). If one wants to fight for damage I'm sure you can make that into a one shot, but I found it felt better to have that toughness regen, and you still kill everything else in one on direct hit so I felt it was fine. Go Again! is taken as being able to spam taunt is super nice, and you don't need the extra damage like ever. And as always, Confident Strike makes up for not having The Best Defence (though if one wanted to run inspiring barrage on the Twin-Stubber, they could put headtaker on the pickaxe instead and move steady grip to that talent, but I liked having at least one build that used Overwhelming Fire, and as stated, the Pickaxe does quite fine).
