A build put together because I've made a point blank barrage build for every other ranged weapon (sometimes even two), and yet didn't have one for the Heavy Stubber. I didn't really think it would be that useful, but after seeing the kickback surprise me, I figured I'd give it a try... This drops a monstrosity in 15 shots (assuming you can aim at the head), and only takes about 60% of the activation time of Point Blank Barrage. It's rather ludicrous, but kinda great. And since one doesn't super need Burst Limiter Override (it's nice for sure, but you tend to single target with this thing, so while you can get some extra damage, you already 1 shot basically anything you're going to shoot with the weapon even before Blaze Away + Point Blank, so might as well go for something else unless you really want to farm Back Off! procs for free bullets), I decided this would be my 'Point-Blank Barrage build that uses Feel No Pain'. And is then able to take some melee bonuses as well/get to Frenzied Blows. This allows one to easily take a pickaxe, since if the pickaxe is in need of clearing waves with no other support, it very heavily desires having the attack speed. But once it does, it's a monster all by itself, and with the pickaxe III working perfectly with Torment, you can pull heavily armored targets in while staggering them, rev up a heavy and bonk them, then light attack to finish them off (or two lights if you miss the head at any point). This leads into quite the sustainable gameplay loop, that lets you deal with pretty much everything by either spamming light attacks (diagonal into an uppercut), doing heavy light string (opposite diagonals), or throwing in a block attack into a heavy light string to keep your FNP stacks up. Weave in pulls for extra damage when you need it and need to stun the wave as well, as it also applies a hit for Frenzied Blows allowing you to get to max attack speed quickly. Beyond that, you use your stubber as you normally would, with the added ability to activate Point Blank Barrage for a free reload when you need it. You can also as stated use it to completely melt a monstrosity, or otherwise one shot kill your way through an entire gunner and elite wave. With the added rending, you can even 2-3 shot a crusher by just spamming shots into their dome, it's quite strong. And even without Lucky Bullet, you'll rarely run into issues with ammo unless you're REALLY not caring to much, thanks to Ammo Stash + this weapon being so slow to fire you 'only' get off 1 clip per CA activation. As an added benefit, you can 'hip fire' decently well with Point Blank active to just spam shots into the wave and wipe mutants/other big targets, which feels quite nice and is very effective. I then take Bruiser to make up for not having Maximum Firepower, by moving the point I normally put in Can't Hit Me...Again down, since I don't need that DR as much because I have FNP giving it to me instead. That's about it really. As always Confident Strike is taken to make up for not taking The Best Defence, I use Stay Close! as well as you'll never really be suppressing the wave enough to feel the bonus damage. Bombs Away! is used for wave management and clutch revives when things get a bit hectic, since you don't have Wrath on the pick axe you will SOMEtimes run into to much meat and need to thin it out, but it's not that often. If one want's Wrath though they can swap bruiser for it (via adding back in The Best Defence and swapping Confident Strike for Wrath), and just be more selective about their CA activation's. I don't feel that's needed though as the Pickaxe III has Cleave Targets that's allowed to go up to a pretty high cleave amount, so as stated I rarely if ever run into wave clear issues. Ohh, and Steady Grip is to allow for max damage blessing on the Stubber, so you can just hold it and fire away without a care in the world with it and Mobile Emplacement together, along with helping you recover after bursters/snipers destroy your toughness.
