Shotgun can instantly proc Blazing Piety by shooting into a horde.
Second shot in the barrel is almost always a crit which has extreme cleave. Each enemy hit with that shot counts towards Blazing Piety through Fury Rising.
With 5 stacks of scattershot, a +5% crit chance perk on the double barrel, and blazing piety up the throwing knife has a 100% chance to crit.
With manstopper the throwing knife inherates that extreame cleave through hordes. It will chain its way through a horde all the way to the end.
I was able to get a 9.42s clear time on the mobian horde on havoc 40 through Datatide with 2 shotgun shells and a 15 throwing knives.
(i would not recommend trying this test it is very finicky. The back half of the horde gets suppressed and the front splits from them)
6.15s clear on large horde
7.17s clear on Renegade Ragers & Bruisers
4.85s clear on Ragers & Bruisers
Most of these clear times were 1st try and can be improved upon
This is a runnable build but is not meta. It's just fun to turn the throwing knife into something it was never meant to be.
