 UPDATE:
- This build is kinda obsolete with BbB update. It still works but the right branch has better options now.

 

Overview:
- This build has the potential to CARRY which means you have have answer to everything the game can throw at you. Obviously it doesn't mean it's the best at everything but you will never find yourself in situations where you simply find yourself helpless and thinking it's impossible.
- You will delete weakened monstrosities in about half a bolter clip, real monstrosities in 1 clip + a few powersword hits.
- You will have infinite smoke grenades that last for 30s and thus be immune to most ranged threats except bombers (for havoc specifically).
- You will have no struggle against regular hordes thanks to chad powersword.
- Bolter is accurate and powerful at long range -> you will do your specialist sniper job just fine but obviously not as efficiently as a plasma user

 

In depth gameplay:
- *WIP*
- Against hordes, Achlys Mk VI Power Sword rotation is charge + 3x lights -> block cancel -> repeat
- Against elites, Achlys Mk VI Power Sword rotation is charge + push atk + 2x light -> block cancel -> repeat
- Against monstrosities use Voice of Command to activate Marksman (this talent is BROKEN) so it staggers and unleash your bolter fury on its weakspot, enjoy the satisfaction of seeing the hp bar disappear faster than you've ever seen from a veteran.
- Use Smoke Grenade all the time everywhere you go, especially good if you have no cover and have to stay in one place or in cornered situations. It's better than psyker bubble in many regards.
- Field Improvisation means crates have insane values, DO NOT HESITATE TO USE THEM. The grenade from ammo crate will be goated for ogryns.
- Your worst enemies are RAGERS (especially Dreg Rager), the Achlys Mk VI Power Sword staggers them efficiently but you may find yourself in a pinch when 4+ are on your face. The worst thing to do in that case is to turn around and run, they are faster when you don't look at them and will catch up to you. Dodge backwards Voice of Command is your best friend if you're out of dodges. If you're afraid of kiting them with the sword, don't hesitate to just bolt them to death while walking backwards.
- Specialists are your preys, they are what fuels your Voice of Command back. Always look for them and you will not only do your team a great favor by removing these threats but also empower them with golden toughness.

 

For high havoc:
- You won't be able to delete monstrosities as easily as in maelstrom but you will be a very valuable dmg dealer and 100% have the most boss dmg in your team (better than specialized zeal or ogryn).
- Smoke Grenade are goated and absolutely necessary to stay alive without playing like a rat behind covers
- You still one shot Crusher and Bulwark with the powersword triple hits but you may need a few stacks of slaughterer or Marksman buff in case of rampaging enemies or encroaching garden mutator.

 

MELEE WEAPON:
- Personally I think Achlys Mk VI Power Sword is the best without a doubt.
- You can swap Slaughterer for Sunder if you want better horde management. Killing enemies through carapace, bulwark, void shield, can be very handy.
- Scandar Mk III Power Sword is a strong option too, in that case definitely use Sunder. You will lose single target dmg for better horde management.
- Maccabian Mk IV Duelling Sword is never bad and can be used here but you will have no horde clear at all anymore. If you do that, you should replace Smoke Grenade with Shredder Frag Grenade. It will work very well and it synergizes very very well with Marksman.
- If you REALLY can't stand Dreg Rager, you may replace one of the perks with +maniac.

 

RANGED WEAPON:
- This build is 100% tailored for the Locke Mk IIb Spearhead Boltgun so I wouldn't recommend any other here. M35 Magnacore Mk II Plasma Gun is obviously a great weapon always like the DS but can shine better with other setups.
- For pure burst dmg, Cavalcade may bring more dmg than Puncture especially if there are other sources of bleed in your team, Pinning Fire is also an option.

 

CURIOS:
- Mostly up to your preferences honestly, I set one of each here because they are all very valuable and your lifeline in various ways.
- +3 Stamina will help you reviving, blocking ragers, running. The second you run out of stamina and have ragers at your face, it doesn't matter how many hp or toughness you have: you are dead.
- +17% Toughness will help you with ranged enemies.
- +21% HP will help you tanking melee hits and Scab Sniper shots.
- For havoc, +15% corruption resistance is valuable, feel free to replace a 5% toughness or 20% gunner resist.
