This is a balanced build. To lean into more support (book spam): drop Righteous Warrior & Duellist , take Stalwart & Pious Cut-Throat. PCT is insane; if you want to really be spamming Book half of the time (maybe because you love the animation this much, or maybe you feel your teammates are far more skilled than you), then PCT is the way to go.

However, channeling Book is not as fun as slicing stuff with Munitorum Mk X Relic Blade : for me the balanced setup have the perfect fun/utility ratio. Book usually don't need to be spammed, it'll be there when you need it. In the meantime we can focus on killing stuff.

About Purge the Unclean : it is an awesome talent, however, we're short on talent points. We benefit so much from crit we really want the +10% of Righteous Warrior. Sustained Assault & Faithful Frenzy are too good to pass; so is Duellist . In the end, we can't take Purge the Unclean without losing too much.

Since this is a support build, we're not here to max our leaderboard numbers: our goal is to ensure we safely complete the mission as a team. From a selfless perspective, +30% damage on the whole team is bonkers, especially since by CCing enemies and giving allies yellow bars, we're actively making our mates feel safer. A player that feels safe is a player whose mind is free to focus on dealing damage. In other words, by CCing and painting bars yellow, Book provides Confidence to the team, a hidden dps buff that stacks perfectly with Ecclesiarch's Call +30%.

Gameplay loop:

  • "Business as usual": stay close to the team to maximize Coherency; use a mix of Blades of Faith and Locke Mk IIb Spearhead Boltgun to kill specials; make space for the teammates and cover their dead angles when you see them stuck in tunnel vision grinding down a horde (It is the Support Zealot way: be glad to replace the leaderboard chase with honest, unrewarding work. The Emperor protects and so do we.)
  • "There are pewpews in the distance": rush 'em using slides and the Relic Sword charge. Use Book liberally if there's more than 2 gunners; along with spamming dodge, Book makes a fine gap closer thanks to the suppression range. It's okay, it'll come off CD soon enough.
  • "Shit hits the fan": big mixed horde / carapace pack / boss? That's our time to shine. As soon as an ally took shield damage, Book. Channeling Book gives us idle time: make good use of it by actively scanning the battlefield. Ping that special, aim your next pulse where space is most needed.
Your next goal is to position yourself in a way that during the final Book pulse, you have line of sight on the most pressing threat. Then as soon as it ends, you want to dodge (to activate Duellist ), draw the Locke Mk IIb Spearhead Boltgun (throwing a  Blades of Faith to shorten draw animation), and dump the magazine onto the threat weakspot (ideally, weaving dodges to keep Duellist up). Thanks to Duellist + lingering 30% damage buff from Ecclesiarch's Call, it'll do a ton of damage.
Then, back to activated Relic Sword: if your team made good use of the +30% damage buff the crisis should be adverted at this point. If not... it probably means people got CC'd or died, and you have to carry your team.
Fortunately, we prepared for this by picking Wrath blessing instead of the classical Rampage. Wrath is good in itself but really shines when facing overwhelming odds: along the Munitorum Mk X Relic Blade naturally good cleave and the classical Zealot dodge talents, you have proper tools to (hopefully) save the day.

    About weapon perks:
  • On the sword, we benefit too much from crit to decline more, but the second one is flexible. I like maniacs but it's really up to you
  • On the bolter, it simply covers the enemies against which Relic Sword is least effective. I like it because it makes the setup well-rounded and most importantly, skip reasoning about "should I draw the pewpew". See boss/carapace, go pewpew. Else, sword whoosh whoosh. Simple is good.
