Description
The Ironbreaker
With this build - you are the wall for your team. You are there to provide the breathing room to let them do their job. With near-uptime on your taunt, you can keep bosses, elites, and specials stunned and focused entirely on you. I have had great success with this build in Havoc 40 runs and is extremely easy to utilise.
Pros
- Extremely tanky
- Lots of toughness generation
- High amounts of stamina
- Lots of stagger
- Constant taunts
- AoE armor shred thanks to shield + Brutish Strength
- Well equipped to deal with any special
- Ammo efficient
Cons
- Low damage compared to other builds, you will be relying on your team to eat through heavily armored hordes
- Not the best range outside of Kickback and Rocks
- Really bad at killing Bulwarks which can be annoying for your ranged teammates
Weapons:
Kickback
This is your all-rounder weapon. You can one-shot most specials at close-medium range outside of Mutants.
Playstyle
Utilise the shield to stagger & taunt enemies away from your teammates. If you have a Psyker, you are their bodyguard. By peeling them, they have more uptime on their horde clearing capabilities (build works best with an Inferno Staff Psyker). With the Kickback, you should be sniping any specials approaching your teammates. Utilise the rocks to deal with Mutants and stagger Chaos Spawns (staggers regardless of where you hit them).
When the situation gets dicey, make sure to taunt and stagger enemies around you, Go Again! will provide massive amounts of cooldown on your taunt. By the time it finishes, you will only need to wait seconds before taunting again. With packs of Crushers and Maulers, make sure to taunt and spam your shield push a few times to shred armor, this will allow your team to shred them quickly.
As the dedicated frontliner, you will likely be in charge of pacing. If you feel like you need to fallback to a better spot, then ping your team, most high level Havoc players will respect the call as it lets you do your job better.
Keep an eye on your flanks, it's common for trash or even Ragers to sneak up on you or your teammates. The last thing your Psyker or Vet wants is 3 Ragers from behind.
