The build concept overall is quite simple. This is primarily a crowd-control support build for the psyker, which is flexible enough to deal with any threat you may come up against in a pinch.

  1. When running around the level between waves/boss fights you can use your Equinox Mk IV Voidstrike Force Staff to easily dispatch enemies. Use primary attack for single/duo stragglers, and the charge attack for clumps of patrols. In case of a Mutant showing up charge your Obscurus Mk II Blaze Force Sword with the special attack in advance, then dodge to the side and hit it as it passes to deliver an easy killing blow.
  2. When a wave/boss shows up always start by using your Telekine Dome to provide yourself and the team with protection from ranged fire and toughness regeneration from Sanctuary .
  3. Your default job during a wave/boss is to hold the horde at bay using Smite :
    1. You can hold almost an entire wave of horde enemies in place by using a fully charged Smite. This includes Specials and Elites, who will take extra damage from you and your teammates courtesy of Enfeeble.
    2. Empowered Psionics give you some extra damage and faster spread which will help you proc the stuns and wipe out chaff.
    3. Always make sure to stop casting before you reach 100% perils to take advantage of the massive stagger that is applied to all shocked enemies (if your perils reach 100% the spell fizzles out withotu the stagger).
    4. Keep note of the sound effect indicating that you are about to be hit by a melee attack and get used to dodging even when you cant see it - this will prevent you from being disrupted while casting (you can also use dodges to move quickly short distances while channeling Smite ).
    5. If your perils are high during a horde always try to quell as much as you can when reasonably possible so you can recast Smite
    6. If the situation does not permit quelling switch to your Obscurus Mk II Blaze Force Sword and use a light+heavy (repeating) attack combo to fend off the horde effciently. Any kill you get has a 10% chance to quell 10% peril thanks to Battle Meditation . If you're faced with tanky Elites (e.g. Dreg Rager Scab Rager Crusher Bulwark Reaper ) use your special attack + heavy attack to the head to deliver a strong warp attack that will deal a lot of damage. Note you can still strafe while the animation plays out to avoid other incoming attacks.
  4. Use your Equinox Mk IV Voidstrike Force Staff charge attack during a wave if:
    1. There are specials to dispatch (you easily take out Dreg Tox Bomber , Scab Bomber , Scab Trapper , Scab Sniper even through hordes of enemies). In particular against snipers simply aim a charged attack down range towards where their laser indication is coming from for an easy kill.
    2. The horde is funneling through a tight chokepoint, in that case repeated charged orbs through that chokepoint are going to efficiently kill dozens of enemies per attack due to the unlimited penetration.
    3. Your teammates are not available to dispatch Elites in the horde.
    4. Note that with Warp Nexus the higher your peril, the higher your crit chance, which can trigger Surge to fire off 2 critical orbs into a horde. Get used to slightly spinning as you fire into a horde to spread these 2 orbs in 2 lines, or focus them on one big target for a quick kill.
  5. Use your Obscurus Mk II Blaze Force Sword during a wave if:
    1. You are being attacked by a Mutant that you don't have time to stun with Smite (due to their incredible stagger resistance) use the special attack as detailed in (1).
    2. You are being attacked in close range by elites your teammates don't have time to deal with, in which case use a quick burst of Smite to knock them down and your sword's special attack for a quick kill.
    3. You are at critical peril and cannot safely quell it (as detailed in (3.f))
    4. Note that Unstable Power scales your melee damage with your peril, so for maximum effect it is best to maximize your peril with warp attacks like Smite before switching to the sword when possible.
  6. Your talents should keep your toughness up as you build/quell peril and gain warp-kills. Listen closely for sound ques to time your dodges while you focus on the crowd control.
