Basically Mister E's Police Brutality (https://darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/9f44a958-c45d-426d-b7f7-0ae17c238913/mister-es-police-brutality) but slightly adjusted for my taste:
- Voltaic Shock Mine is the more enjoyable ability for me. Good space control for objectives/clutch rezzes/overwhelming numbers.
I also like that it can recycle unused grenade packs: laying the things preemptively creates a safe retreat spot, should things go south.
Finally, with the shotgun blessings we're packing, grenade feels a bit redundant; in a pinch I'd rather magdump & generate Melee Justice. - Imo Writ of Judgement is asking too much for the little value it brings. An encounter where rending would be useful is about to happen, but will there be enough trash to farm 30 Melee Justice?
It is quite random, and overall unlikely. Even if that's the case, "farming stacks" shouldn't be on top of your mind, but immediate down-to-earth considerations like handling specials, positioning yourself, keep track of teammates, etc.
So I replaced the rending stuff (Writ of Judgement & Strike Down) with Ammo Belt & Imposing Force. Both are generally useful and brings value no matter the situation (More ammo is more Melee Justice stacks, around which the whole build is centered. 25% DR is great survivability boost. Survivability is uptime, and uptime trumps rending, cf. the tortoise and the hare). - Close range shotgun blessings fits perfectly with charge: charge closes the gap, gives room to shoot and increases damage so you can stack those 'on kill' blessings asap. Don't forget to push an enemy before shooting for that sweet +75% cleave.
- True Grit can be traded for Melee Damage Boost if you're feeling cooky. I do so in Auric. However in Havoc and overall, True Grit is the reasonable choice.
