OGRYN IS BIG AND STRONG AND DOES MANY PAIN TO SMALL SQUISHY HERE... HETERI... AH LITTLE GREEN-BAD-MEN

Ironically, this build is extremely quick for an ogryn, punches like a freight train and snipes distant enemies with ease. You're quick, can stagger crushers, regen crazy toughness, insane accuracy AND you're the ogryn... An absolute beast to face, you're akin of a rat-ogre in Warhammer Fantasy, but faithful to the God-Emperor of humanity.

I'll go in details of the crucial perks and the weapons to take along with reasons why and if an alternative is acceptable while still providing optimal performance.

PLAYTESTED ON AURIC/HAVOC AND WORKS LIKE A CHARM

Equipment

Melee:

  1. Option 1: Krourk Mk IV Cleaver

It is not only the best cleaver but one of the best ogryn melee weapon. It's quick and packs a good punch. Tenderiser makes your uppercut give you extra punch with your regular attacks and has a chance of staggering even the toughest of enemies like maulers and crushers. Confident Strike is so broken on such a quick weapon that you can actually fight plague ogryns and captains head on (without dodging) and never break toughness as you regen it faster than they can damage you. For the weapon stats, cleave damage is useless as the weapon is mainly a one-target attack but because you attack at mach-3,  you can make multiple attacks per second. Just make sure you use the secondary attack (ALT key by default), the uppercut, every few hits to make sure you maximise damage output. Really easy weapon do dodge with (you'll be doing it constantly), make sure you make a heavy attack every now and then to maximise your damage output as Beat Them Back gives you a sweet 15% damage boost.

  2. Option 2: There is no option 2, the Krourk Mk IV Cleaver is already the best for this build.

Ranged:

  1. Option 1: Krourk Mk IIa Heavy Stubber

This is basically an ogryn-sized sniper rifle... The recoil is atrotious but you'll never have to worry about it since you're going to be aiming constantly when you use it, to take care of distant enemies. With Surgical and Deadly Accurate, aim for 3 seconds and you have a garanteed crit that deals galactic damages (1-shot reapers and maulers on auric if weakspot).

  2. Option 2: Anything else

In theory, you won't be using your ranged weapon all that much. It'll be helpful to take out pesky snipers or a distant group of reapers/gunners but otherwise any good weapon revealed to be competent in my various playthroughs. If the slow, constantly aimed, single shot heavy subber is not for you, feel free to swap it out for your prefered and trusted weapon of choice since we all know the Emperor protects.

Curios:

  1. Option 1: Toughness
  2. Option 2: Toughness
  3. Option 3: Toughness

This one is pretty self-explanatory: Toughness' the name and punching's the game. The more toughness you have, the more you regenerate with various perks. Unless isolated with odds against me, I've seldom found myself at anything less than 70% toughness for more than 2 seconds, as every successive melee attack gives back more than you can lose in the same amount of time. For the curios' perks, gunners, snipers, toughness and ability regen are worth picking up to ensure you remain alive as long as you can.

Perks

  • Blitz: Circumstantial
    • If you use the Krourk Mk IIa Heavy Stubber, then either the Frag Bomb or Bombs Away! are fine picks but I feel Bombs Away! might be a little more useful to disupt large groups and keep them staggered, allowing you to punch and regen your toughness.
    • If you use any other weapon, I would recomment picking the Big Friendly Rock as you'd be lacking efficient long-range attacks. The rock will be your trusty sniping ability, provided the rock reaches its targed before it moves.
  • Ability: Indomitable
    • Used both as a defensive and offensive tool.
      • Defensive: Allows you to regen lots of toughness thanks to Stomping Boots and gets you out of a precarious situation while allowing your team better maneuver thanks to its incredible crowd control.
      • Offensive: gives you a temporary 25% attack speed and can stagger a monstruosity. MAY knock down captains or the twins but you can stop the charge prematurely by pressing the back key (S by default), allowing you to instantly start stabbing the enemies you've just knocked down with that attack speed bonus.
  • Aura: Bonebreaker's Aura
    • Pretty straightforward; more melee damage = good
  • Keystone: Heavy Hitter
