Description
This is a crusher build focusing on using charged heavy attacks and spamming the Break the Line ability.
Build techs:
1. Targeted Brutality offers up to 5 seconds off and the 12% from our curios (2.4 seconds) brings it down to a 12.6 second cooldown if we get the full 5 seconds. If you are trying to squeeze in some points and would rather use the ability reactively taking out Targeted Brutality and Commendation from Condemnation would free up two points and you could also use your curios for something other than cooldown recovery.
2. Judicial Force and Arbites Vigilant combine to give us an aoe stagger each time we use Break the Line . If we take a hit while we are at 10 stacks, it causes us to go down to 9, then our first hit after that will bring it back up to 10 and trigger the stagger again. Without Judicial Force break the line only hits in front of you and often misses important targets you want to stagger to create space. this makes it useful for reviving teammates that are surrounded or just knocking problems on their butts.
3. Concussive is a big part of what makes the crusher much better on arbites than on zealot because we can benefit from Skullcrusher against bosses, and enemies who have temporary stagger immunity.
4. Break the Line and Judicial Force both offer us temporary damage boosts which can be used together with Arbites Grenade to great effect.
5. Lone Wolf provides us with a nice attack speed boost and regenerating grenades evey minute, but it also prevents our dog from swooping in and blocking our hits. The charged crusher attack has to hit an enemy to put out the aoe stagger and we are very vulnerable when we miss our attacks and the enemies around us aren't staggered.
6. we have multiple damage boosts that apply on staggered enemies and/or require us to hit weak spots... so aim for the head. the first weakspot hit will stagger the enemy (even if they are stagger immune) and the second weakspot hit will finish them off from all the damage bonuses Strike Down Target the Weak Skullcrusher
7. Judicial Force also makes us mostly immune to dogs. so long as we have 1 or more stacks of forceful when we get hit by a dog it will damage us down to 0 stacks and activate the stagger knocking them back. The only way to actually get dogged is to not have any stacks, or to get re-dogged immediately before you can apply more stacks (nearly impossible) or be brought back down to 0 before the 5 second cooldown is up. This is why I use damage resistance pox hounds.
Gameplay tips:
Heavy attack slide: the crusher has a really long reach and you can extend it even further by timing a forward slide as you release the heavy attack. You can also replace the slide with a dodge in any direction. My bread and butter combo:
- Slide or dodge + Charge
- Heavy attack + forward slide or dodge
Defenses:
Walk It Off and Will of the Lex together give us 5-10% toughness regeneration per second
Force of Will each heavy attack that lands a hit gives 10% toughness
Up Close each close range kill gives 5% toughness
Hold the Line gives a 15% damage reduction for a single melee attack
Ranged weapon:
Any ranged weapon will work. I use bolter to take out enemies at mid-long range.
