Use ability, shoot things, try not to shoot down hordes unless absolutely needed (it works great but uses lots of ammo), use shovel on hordes and it's special to stagger heavies for skull crusher. Try to keep your ability up at all times. Killing things at range generates team toughness and buffs damage.
(I might try Chink in their Armour over Competitive Urge.)

P.S. If you're playing with a coordinated 4-man team that knows how to ration ammo you can switch the aura to damage or movement speed.
