Description
I take a lot of inspiration from Razgriz's "Zealot infodump" and Dopeslinkers "Fatmangus" but I made my own edits to the builds to suite my playstyle and equipment preferences
I found a lot of talents (Scourge notably) didn't work as well as I once hoped they would with the relic blade
Important note about the flamer: This is a support weapon, you don't use it to kill things directly, it exists for when a Crusher / Scab Mauler / Scab Rager pack shows up, you pump a few seconds of direct fire into it to ramp up the brittleness and apply a nice DoT and let your relic blade cool off a bit, then you get right back in there. I'm testing Showstopper currently for if the stagger is worth the blessing slot, alternatively you could run Overpressure for more damage or Everlasting Flame for the QoL of always having your weapon fully loaded. Similarly I've considered running Out of Pocket but I dislike how it functions (it having a cap on how much it reloads is the biggest problem imo, I already do enough quickswap maintaining on my vet build, i dont wanna track that with this one)
Addendum to the above: Showstopper doesn't seem worth it, changing back to everlasting
The main disagreements I have with the build inspirations are
Shield of Contempt is very rarely a good pick imo, it has an 8 second cooldown that exists across the ENTIRE party, so if theres a bot in your party who takes health damage, that puts an 8 second cooldown on the ability for all of the other players as well, and with a 4 second duration it means it has at best 50% uptime on one player, which might not be you!
Disdain only works on every second attack, one hit will build charges, and then the second hit will "spend" them, but you won't GAIN any charges even if you hit 5 enemies with it, which means your 3rd attack will be unbuffed again. It can be a +25% melee damage buff, but I find Backstabber and Against the Odds to be more reliable in the situations you need it
Unseen Blade is also very similar, I find it easier to flank an enemy than to rely on them not targeting me, and I'm often playing quite deep into the pack, so the enemies that I'm focusing are often also targeting me.
Scourge was a hard cut but I ended up doing it after playing with this build for a while, I'd very rarely ever get the crit chance, basically only against monstrosities, and while it did add some good dps, my havoc group often has a thammer and kraks, so I find its better for me to just focus on debuffing the monster with the flamer and keeping the horde thinned.
The combination of Blood Redemption and Enemies Within, Enemies Without also keeps you VERY tanky while in the middle of a horde, with the cleave from your relic blade you can easily just wade into groups of enemies and take very little damage, while your Restoring Faith and Beacon of Purity clears any chip damage you do take.
And stacking damage reduction from Good Balance (with a notable mention from Second Wind ), Enduring Faith and the Bleed for the Emperor / Faith's Fortitude combo, means your toughness gives you an inch and you take it a mile.
It's not quite as clutch focused as some of the Shroudfield builds out there, but its also not as boring to play as just chainspamming stealth LOL.
