Description
a genuinely viable havoc 40 sword build for zealot. short disclamer do not bring this to rotten armour (obvously), theres simply too many crushers, but otherwise it can be brought anywhere else.
but why? shroudfield frees up a lot of our downsides here, we bring carapace damage to one shot crushers/reapers/bulwarks with a scoop backstab shroud. which means we can use it as an opener to remove the ogryn mass blocker. that leaves us with man sized enemies who are perfect sizes to scoop, even maulers. where theres more than 3 ogryns simply drop a stunstorm and scoop what you can.
shroudfield also lets you rev with impunity. this frees up 3 curio slots, where we will put triple gunner resist. combined with "thy wrath be swift" and the constant toughness regen from inexorable judgement, it lets us run around and scoop with impunity.
monstrosities are a tricky one. the fast and slow infantry autogun have comparable damage for this purpose so use either, but the idea is this: inexorable judgement and the riposte perk above it all apply to ranged damage, as does shroudfield and backstabber. so, we use this with the autogun blessings/perks to stack some rather brutal damage on bosses. pop shroudfield, get a scoop, switch to autogun and drop 1/2 clips into the back. this will be enough to bring the boss hp into the "diddy zone", which is where the hp is low enough that the team hard focuses it down to get the kill.
that leaves maulers, ragers and specials. all specials except a mutant can be one shot with a simple head scoop, the mutant on havoc 40 might need a special attack as a follow-up or, more likely, a couple backshots from the autogun to finish it off as it runs away. body scoops followed by the special on maulers, making sure to scoop multiple targets per hit will bring them down in a couple scoops. naked ragers can be one-scooped in the head (but only with fully stacked modifiers) and both ragers are stunned by the scoop/special combo. the carapace body on scab ragers are annoying, but a couple well placed head-scoops will take care of that
thy wrath be swift stops puzzle interrupts, making you the perfect objective pusher
other than that, its simply about target priority. when shroudfield is on cooldown, you're best use is scooping up any stray hordes that are harrasing the psyker and veteran, and playing frontliner when things get hairy. its extremely surprising how resilient the heavy sword zealot is on the frontline with 4 dodges and no movement penalty, as well as some respectable stagger.
anyway please check this one out, its a fresh new way to play zealot and works very smoothly
