Description
This is meant to be a versatile build fit for as many missions possible at Damnation or lower, with a focus on taking out elites and armored enemies, building up damage resist, and using the cyber-mastiff as a tool to apply debuffs and create breathing room.
This build has been tested up to Damnation, as well as during Nurgle's Might missions, and can effectively handle large hordes of mixed enemies, as well as large packs of carapace-armored maulers, crushers, and ragers.
Shock Maul and Suppression Shield: I prefer the XI to the VI for the combo chains, and Hammerblow + High Voltage gives me easy ways to boost impact and damage immediately. It can manage carapace targets easily, and while it doesn't have as much stagger, can build quickly.
Exterminator Shotgun: While I know the Mk VIII is less popular due to the lower base magazine size, the improved range, accuracy, and brittleness special ammo more than makes up for this difference. Taking the cleave node lets you punch through hordes to get at specials and elites, and it can take out gunners, snipers, and trappers from very long distances. Fire Frenzy + Full Bore allows you to take out a number of weak enemies, and then immediately use Full Bore on any Crushers, Maulers, or other Ogryn around for maximum effectiveness.
Activate Castigator's Stance when there are lots of enemies, then use the shotgun to punch through hordes of maulers and ragers, letting your dog clear space to take them out one by one, using Remote Detonation and the Shield's special attack to stagger and electrocute large groups to buy breathing room.
Cyber-Mastiff: You should be pinging enemies at close range with Execution Order to buff yourself and your dog, using the bleed and electrocute to take out elites quickly. While the modifier nodes are useful, I find the skill point best allocated elsewhere, and keeping the hound close is generally more beneficial than sending it across the map to hunt snipers.
Remote Detonation: Doesn't require grenade pickups. 'Nuff said.
