Description
My current favorite way to play Skitarii, this build lets you handle anything the game throws at you with one caveat: your role is exceptionally unappreciated. Your teammates will almost certainly never, ever recognize what you're doing beyond noticing the fact they are inexplicably dying less.
PLAYSTYLE
All that's required of you is to not play like an idiot. Stick by a teammate (somebody, anybody) and swing at things. If there's a large group, especially of armored baddies, switch on your Branx Mk III Arc Maul and start swinging for some emergency shock therapy. If an even larger cluster of fatties or a boss comes along, then swap out the Branx Mk IV Arc Rifle for some higher voltage and start blasting.
For everything in between, tag them for your Noospheric Command servo skull and let it deal with the mess for you. Don't worry about keeping your Redline Capacitors stacks up, since Noospheric Command has a delightful benefit of draining enough capacitance to eat a stack before you just regen it in mere seconds. Thanks to this cheese, you can save your Chordclaw Strike for when you need it.
Try to be a little conservative with your Medicae Servo-Skull, since you are tanky, fast, and uninterruptable when reviving teammates manually, but don't be too stingy, either. Beyond that, you'll visibly notice your teammates rapidly regenerating toughness just by being next to you. Feel free to point that out if they ever ask what you're even doing for the team.
WEAPONS
The Branx Mk III Arc Maul is pretty much mandatory, primarily because of Confident Strike. This means the best way to use the thing is just swing away without much concern for combos. Repeated swinging also procs Uncapped Arrestor and your countless on-hit effects, so the faster you swing, the better. Turning on its special mode will melt enemies with armor thanks to System Shock, turning crusher parades into crusher pâté, especially with allies. In emergencies, though, you can use Chordclaw Strike to solve problems on a more individual basis.
The Branx Mk IV Arc Rifle is strictly for bosses or heavy ambushes. As stated, your servo-skull will handle most long range threats, so the only real gap in your skillset is boss damage and crowd clear.
CURIOS
Toughness Regeneration Speed is deceptively good thanks to Resurgence and the stupid amount of bonuses this class gives to regeneration, and gives you way, waaay more wiggle room for error than you'd expect (but only for this build specifically). The improved Ally Revive Speed both stacks nicely with Salvation Doctrine and lets you interact with thingies faster (which is a hidden benefit). Lastly, the Toughness boost is because, well, more toughness means fatter toughness regen bonuses.
I don't really find gunner damage resist necessary. Even on high havoc, if you aren't standing in front of gunners like a dolt, you tend to do fine. But if you're that much of a stickler for it, then I would probably drop Ally Revive Speed. But where's the fun in that?
SKILLS
The centerpiece of this build is Power Overflow. You can visibly see ally toughness regen before your very eyes thanks to your efforts (not like they'd even notice). As such, this build focuses heavily on toughness replenishment and damage reduction, which has the added benefit of making you exceptionally tanky. Since nothing you do beyond blasting the Branx Mk IV Arc Rifle requires any resources, you can pretty reliably save otherwise doomed matches.
An unfortunate node tax is Target Prioritization Psalms, but it's deceptively useful, especially since it marks poxbusters who you definitely do not want to tag manually since Noospheric Command has a tendency to make them explode in your face. During more chaotic game types, it's actually quite handy for singling out specialists in a horde of other specials.
OPTIONAL VARIANTS
Since Electro-Strike Conduit assures any weapon can electrocute, you're free to experiment, but I found the Branx Mk III Arc Maul most reliable since it can chain-electrocute entire hordes of enemies. Still, any fast-swinging weapon will do.
The Branx Mk IV Arc Rifle is to cover your blindspot for boss damage, but if you feel Chordclaw Strike has that covered well enough, you can swap it out to any weapon of your personal preference.
If you aren't a fan of Chordclaw Strike, Voltaic Emitter is a valid alternative, especially if gunners are giving you a hard time. The only issue is that it's tough to get max stacks back up, especially when it consumes up to three stacks at once for a single use. If you find capacitance management easy enough, it might be worth trying out.
I experimented with Combat Ability Regeneration for the curios, but I found it mostly unnecessary since Augmented Power-Cycle does more than enough to match the decay rate of Redline Capacitors.
