Description
If you want to win, you send for the biggest, meanest, and angriest you've got. That's me. Not these runts. They can't hold a proper gun. Can't hold a proper knife.
Key features:
- Able to solo a Daemonhost.
- Near infinite Point-Blank Barrage uptime.
- Never needs to manually reload.
Introduction:
Disclaimer: This is a wild, screen clearing, monstrosity murdering, lore accurate, lead churner. If you wanted accuracy, you've come to the wrong place. But we don't need that. Because we've got bullets. Lots of bullets.
The Build:
First, forget you have a reload button. Just toss it out. You'll never need to press it again. You use Point-Blank Barrage now exclusively to reload, as your cooldown will be so rapid that it will nearly always be ready for you. We utilize this uptime to feed ourselves with constant stores of ammunition, basking in the glory that is "50% of ammo consumed while Point-Blank Barrage is active is returned to our reserve once finished".
Secondly, our melee weapon is not weak. The Krourk Mk IV Cleaver will put in work with this setup. Since it's already such a fast weapon, Frenzied Blows stacks will build up near instantaneously when you get stuck in, allowing us to really turn the blender on. Slaughterer will likewise nearly always be at full stacks, this combined with the Strength buff from No Hurting Friends! enables our Krourk Mk IV Cleaver to remain a formidable option when we want to conserve ammunition.
Finally, let's talk about survivability, and a quirk of Steady Grip . In patch 1.11, Beyond the Hive, Steady Grip was changed from “...while bracing your Ranged Weapon” to “...while bracing or shooting your Ranged Weapon”. This means you don't need to brace your weapon to get Toughness out of it. We leverage that. The amount of Toughness we can regenerate by simply firing from the hip is so high that you can face tank a Daemonhost at a brisk walking pace and take next to no Damage.
Weapons:
Krourk Mk IV Cleaver
Flak/Maniac + Confident Strike / Slaughterer , Mobility dump
Horde clear combo: H2 into L3, accessible easily from push attack or after two lights.
Light spam is a viable alternative.
Confident Strike does a lot of work for us here. To save a point in the upper tree, we're skipping the staple The Best Defence. Confident Strike more than fills the gap that leaves behind.
Slaughterer buffs Strength a crazy +40% at max stacks, which improves our Damage, Impact, and Cleave. Combined with No Hurting Friends! this rises to +50%, enabling our Cleaver to feel like a true off hand, and not just 'what you use when you're low on ammo'
Achlys Mk VII Twin-Linked Heavy Stubber
Critical Strike Chance/Flak + Charmed Reload / Fire Frenzy , Collateral dump
No Hurting Friends! and Fire Frenzy stack up to ridiculous damage, as the 10%+ Strength buff from No Hurting Friends! applies to our ranged weapon. That 10%+ Strength from No Hurting Friends! combined with Fire Frenzy's ludicrous 50%+ close damage, it'll feel like you're pushing back the frontline with your gun like you're painting with broad brush strokes.
Charmed Reload is essential for our Achlys Mk VII Twin-Linked Heavy Stubber , working alongside Point-Blank Barrage to let this build completely disregard manual reloading.
On being accurate: Crouch, fire in controlled bursts, allow your recoil to fully reset.
FAQ:
Grut me pal! No Big Boom or Fire Away ? Come on!
No, in fact the only reason we have Bombs Away! is to cause a stagger pool for picking up a teammate. Our grenades are pure utility and not DPS.
