QUICK DESCRIPTION & OVERVIEW
The goal of this build is pretty self explainatory : It is meant to be as effective as possible at keeping you alive and above of a wound worth of injury, all while trying to be as deadly as possible so you can speedrun the mission in under 20 minutes.
Do note that this build's also been thought to be used on the mission The Orthus Offensive. (The one with both Rinda Karnak and Rodin Karnak, in-case y'didn't know.)
PLAYSTYLE
The build's not meant to be played in solo. Please consider that. You will need to find intelligent teammates to help you, but not necessarily carry you the whole game.
Because the mission it is meant to be played on is pretty short and easy to mentally map, I won't focus on how to speedrun it. Run a few games, you'll get the hang of it, I believe in you for that! Now let's do this every equipement piece by every equipement piece.
EQUIPEMENT
- Your Crucis Mk II Thunder Hammer is quite the all rounder here. It can easily get you rid of swarms with its heavy attacks but you can also put down heavier units by empowering it and taking advantage of your perks such as Blazing Piety or Abolish Blasphemers, for exemples.
Now, some might wonder, "Why not use a heavy cleaver instead?" The reason why we're using a thunder hammer instead of a heavy cleaver here is quite simple : The Momentum blessing and the cleaving potential of the hammer. A thunder hammer will go through more swarm units at once than the heavy cleaver, and you'll get some toughness back from your Momentum talent. Another good reason is also that it is less risky to deal heavy damages with the thunder hammer in a single blow, as the heavy cleaver gets you stuck for a second while it cleaves through the target, exposing you to danger.
- The Artemia Mk III Purgation Flamer is more of an anti swarm than anything else. with increased damage to armoured enemies and the Penetrating Flame and Fan the Flames talents, it'll get the job done decently well if all goes according to plan.
- Your Immolation Grenade serves as a retreat tool. If you want to run away from a fight, you might want to use one to get some chip damage of anything that might be following you, because you are NOT outrunning shit with all those heavy weapons unfortunately...
- When it comes to the curios, they are there to boost you as much as possible, all with health and toughness boosts, it's quite the no brainer!
- Now, the Chorus of Spiritual Fortitude paired with Holy Cause. Because the ability can stun enemies that get too close, refills your toughness and grants you a resistance bonus, it is just as good of a backup if not a better one than Shroudfield.
- Finally, Beacon of Purity. Because your health bar is divided only into two wounds bars, it'll easily get you rid of a ton of potential corruption for as long as you stick with the team. However, it's pretty easily exchangeable for Benediction, as its 15% toughness damage reduction is also quite the tool to have for our objective, so use whichever fits you best there!
