Description
Pretty standard martyrdom build with the new crusher mark. fills a frontline brawler role with a focus on damage and stagger, good boss damage with FoTF and the crushers power attack however the power attack has a cooldown unlike the blessed Thunder Hammer so followup bonks will deal less damage. I regularly hunt the filthy DemonHeads with this to great effect however ;)
Weapons
Krourk Mk VII Crusher:
- We are using the new Krourk mark of the crusher, phenomenal weapon and functions very similarly to how the ogryn power maul does :D
- For the crusher we are dumping defenses as unlike the Indignatus the weapon special is pretty powerful so maximizing power output increases the AOE and damage.
- Unyielding and carapace for the perks as most other enemies will crumble in 1 or 2 taps to the noggin ;)
- Blessings I've picked skullcrusher as its an absurd damage boost for you and the team plus you have a brilliant amount of stagger on this weapon so can easily apply it to hordes. 2nd blessing I've gone slaughterer as increased strength is more damage, cleave and stagger. I will be experimenting with thrust as it could maybe lead to some funny boss one shots but I'm not sure how useful it'll be outside of that. you could run hammerblow to launch everything onto their ass but its not really needed with how good the dps of this mark is compared to the indignatus, Trauma is also a good option as its got a hidden effect not stated on the tooltip where the duration of staggers are increased so you can shut the enemy AI down for a few seconds buying time to reposition or wait on a cooldown.
Combos:
- Specials/Single target: Push attack -> [Heavy -> Heavy](Repeating) - This gives an attack pattern of diagonal upwards from right to left into a diagonal downwards left to right into a diagonal downwards right to left
- Horde 1: [Heavy -> Light](Repeating) this gives a horizontal attack pattern going right to left into horizontal left to right. Great stagger on the heavy portion and very easy to hit heads in a horde
- Horde 2: Push attack -> [Light -> Heavy](Repeating) This gives an option for mixed hordes where you want to take a specialist out but keep pressure on the horde.
- Bosses/I want THAT dude dead: Weapon special activation -> Fury of The Faithful with heavy attack -> BONK
Notes:
- Activating fury closer to the target can guarentee you can land the empowered hit and not whiff it making your team question why they have a zealot
- You can apply skull crusher to just about everything short of bosses with your horde combo meaning your team mates will deal boosted damage into them too. you can skull crusher Beasts of nurgles if you hit his puss sack on the back too :D
- Push attack is your best friend but can be hard to aim. id suggest taking it into to the meat grinder to see postioning yourself but if you centre your crosshair up and left of the targets head youll often get the headshot.
Godwyn-Branx Mk VI Bolt Pistol:
- We take the Bolt pistol for specialist sniping and for the lethal proximity blessing which buffs the crushers activated special and our stun grenades. You could run anything here that suits you but this is what i like. I did give the heavy laspistol a shot and whilst the speed was nice and i never ran out of ammo it did feel worse than the bolt pistol in every other aspect, still solid though.
- Puncture is useful for mag dumping bosses and for guaranteeing 1 shots on specialists, as we don't take any bleed talents you could run execution instead for some more dmg.
- Bolt pistol AOE can knock bursters on their ass and you out of their radius if you shoot the floor at your feet, do be careful to not pop them but can be a good last resort if you've no stamina or are mobbed and need some space.
Curios:
- 2 Wound curios and 1 stamina seems pretty solid to me :) the stamina could be swapped for a toughness however this weapon thrives off its push attack and i often found myself struggling without the juicy +3 stamina. With the new zealous pilgrim and FoTF we have brilliant unkillable uptime so the loss of toughness isn't too big a deal defensively especially with how quickly we can regenerate it through talents.
- Triple combat ability regen to charge more often to get unkillable, gold toughness, increased attack speed and damage
- Triple stamina regen as the crusher yearns for stamina
- Two gunner damage resistances
- One ally revive speed, I'm shellfish so you could drop a gunner res for another revive speed but with stun nades I'm often able to pull off revives easily and I'm more use to my team alive than kissing the floor dead :D
Talents:
- Disdain is great for mulching hordes though you could take backstabber instead which would lead to easier boss damage due to not needing to stack.
- Second wind with enemies within enemies without are a brilliant defensive core keeping toughness up at max near permanently
- [FLEX] Wait in line for more gunner resistance, could be swapped out for one of the ones listed at the bottom. however this is a strong talent especially if your dropping a curio resistance for revive speed.
- Purge the unclean for more damage into hordes and bosses/reapers + bulwarks
- Duelist has brilliant uptime and the push attack of the crusher has great finesse so its a nice damage buff.
- Stunstorm grenades to turn off the AI and help a team mate out or to clutch a revive, Could go for throwing knives however the bolt pistol is good for specialist sniping so i felt like i wasn't using them as often to be worth bringing.
- Zealous pilgrim + Risen under until death for the constant unkillable state with gold toughness and more damage + attack speed allowing us to swing this hunk of metal like its a tac axe :P
- [FLEX] Thy wrath be swift should be on every build in my opinion however some people don't care for it so could be swapped out for one of the ones listed at the bottom.
- Sustained assault for more damage, Punish impiety for more attack speed (that's up constantly due to how good the push attack is).
- Holy tools as it makes our big power bonk even stronger.
- Prime target for toughness
- [FLEX] Unfaltering, you could swap this out as well however i like the mobility it provides but you can always just bumslide around the map to negate the movement penalties.
- Benediction for some toughness damage resistance as we are running martyrdom so toughness is kinda important :P
- Fury of The Faithful with both subnodes, this allows us to proc unkillable often and gives us the ability to deal with bosses quickly alongside attack speed buffs to mulch hordes quicker. Can be a good panic button to with the 50% toughness regen on press.
- Toughness DR minor node into Faiths fortitude for the 2 wounds.
- Martyrdom with maniac and i shall not fall. pretty obvious keystone choice to be honest but boosts the crushers damage stupidly and lets us swing this thing stupidly fast alongside some more toughness damage reduction so we aren't falling over when delivering the emperors judgment.
- Melee damage boost minor node into Riposte and Pious cut throat. Riposte is free damage so silly to miss out, Pious gives us great cooldown regen on our Fury and we can hit heads easily with the push attack, looping heavy combo or the horizontal horde clear.
Potential alternative nodes:
- Desperation, Push attacks going to eat your stamina so you'll have good uptime on this. i may swap to using this over unfaltering to be honest.
- Shield of contempt is a brilliant team utility talent as it'll give you or your team mate a massive damage reduction which can save them going down and subsequently saving you needing to drag them back up.
- Backstabber/Time to kill for more damage.
- Good balance is nice DR if you keep thy wrath be swift and maybe swapped unfaltering out.
- Providence, helps your team when they go down which may be nice as we don't take much revive speed in our curios.
