Description
A standard Gun Psyker build to take advantage of the IA5's crit damage.
Melee: This is a pretty flexible slot, though it should ideally be able to handle both hordes and elites and you'd probably change talents accordingly. You could go with:
- Blaze Force Greatsword w/ Shred: Good finesse multiplier and the special is nuts. I prefer the Mk 8. Lights for hordes, heavies for single target. Warp Unbound helps prevent overheating from push attacks. Don't sleep on Malefic Momentum : it's a 25% damage boost to your specials and the 8 seconds following.
- Mk 4 or 5 Blaze Force Sword w/ Uncanny Strike + Slaughterer: Mk 5 offers the best horde clear. Push attack spam can knock elites on their asses (and applies Uncanny on its own!). Mk 4's H2 is also good CC. Warp Unbound helps prevent overheating from push attacks.
- Mk 4 Dueling Sword w/ Uncanny Strike + Shred: Nothing else needs to be said about DS4.
- Mk 3 or 6 Combat Blade: Preferably Mk 6, this gives you the best mobility and is surprisingly tanky thanks to Kinetic Deflection and a stamina curio. Push attack spam is its best single target DPS and is sustainable thanks to KD and Psyker's innate low stamina regen delay
- Mk 2 or 5 Combat Axe w/ Brutal Momentum + (Decimator/Headtaker) : Preferably Mk 2, axes require the least amount of thinking. Use heavies on Carapace and Unyielding.
Mk V Infantry Autogun: Deletes everything but Crushers. Excels at short and mid range, but can do long distance in a pinch. The finesse bonus on this is nuts, which is why it's my pick for a crit build. Others like the Shredder and Recon Lasguns can work, but their crit multiplier isn't nearly as much. Revolvers also aren't a bad choice.
Brain Burst: To help save ammo, particularly on targets at long range or behind cover. This also provides a safe option in situations where tons of shooters want your ass and you're able to lock on before taking cover and/or sliding away.
Scrier's Gaze: Use liberally. Prescience will offset the IA's negative crit rate when you're out of Gaze.
Disrupt Destiny: IA5's nutty finesse multiplier is why this is chosen.
Curios: Psykers should probably always take a stamina curio with Kinetic Deflection (which itself is an auto-pick) since KD's peril generation scales with relative stamina cost. Stacking sniper resistance isn't horrible. Toughness regen also isn't bad outside of Havoc (ignore the dogshit takes from Youtube and Reddit). I don't choose Wounds because the game is over if I go down, usually.
