20.10.2025 Update:

  • Curios HP>Toughness
  • Highlight video added
  • Curio section added

Main build idea: We are very mobile and nimble, so we can dive into enemy backline, meanwhile maintaining really high damage output, because its Martyrdom build.  Scourge is really nice damage scaling for Tac Axe, because we have 17% Base crit (12% from TacAxe+ 5% from Zealot base) plus Shred crit on top. Combo of those will give us good chance to land a first crit on a beefy target and get even more crit from Scourge .

Can easy swap between Chorus of Spiritual Fortitude and Fury of the Faithful, to become potent dive machine.

Alternative damage oriented variant: Drop Both Movement speed nodes on the right > Grab Invocation of Deathor Martyr's Purpose + Prime Target+ Blinded by Blood.

Curio section:

So why even after the recent Zealot changes we are still playing 3 Wounds? Why not 2 Wounds + 1 HP or 1 Toughness?

TLDR Play 7 or 5 Wounds.

Answer is not that simple, but hear me out:

  1. So for example we want to play 3 Wounds (+Toughness on them) > 93T/130HP.

When we will trigger Holy Revenant 25% healing we will end right below the threshold of 5th wound, so after every healing proc we are ALWAYS sitting on maximum damage potential. 1 Wound = 18-19HP and after healing we have 33HP.

  2. What happen when we will play 2Wounds+1HP or 1T (+HP on them) > 80T/203HP or 98T/151HP

Because of rounding after every heal we will loose 10%Damage and 6%AS. 1 Wound = 34HP (51HP healed) or 25 HP (38HP healed).

So we are forced to run around, looking for a barrel or other source to loose that HP to maximize our damage output and often that will lead to dire outcomes. And on top of that our last Wound don't give us a lot HP to work with or we have only 80 Toughness.

And if decide to go 2Wounds+1T (+Toughness on them) our last wound is 19HP... survive with that.

  3. Inexperienced Martyrdom gaming: 1 Wound +2T (+Toughness on them) > 120T/130HP. 1 Wound= 26HP (33HP healed). Those numbers looking much more better compared to variant #2 and we loose only 10% Damage and 6%AS for those stats.

Combat Tips:

  • Use Tac Axe Push attack on Ragers, it will stagger them even in swinging animation!
  • Providence + Revive speed on curio will allow you to pull almost any rescue in this game.
  • Keep in mind, that diving with Chorus of Spiritual Fortitude is much harder compared to Fury of the Faithful because of the long CD, so good understanding of situation is needed, when diving.

Observe situation and try to understand, will you be able to engage those gunners w/o wasting Chorus of Spiritual Fortitude CD and if its possible, go for it (Check your team status before diving first, if they are free and not fighting, proceed with the plan). Thats the best case scenario, because Chorus of Spiritual Fortitude will be your backup plan if something goes wrong.

But there will be situations, where you will be forced to engage with the Chorus of Spiritual Fortitude (Group of gunners are already engaged and firing at your squad), so you should plan fight a bit ahead and think of escape route if things will become messy.

  • You should always be in the fray of battle hitting enemies on the head, to get CDR from Pious Cut-Throat rolling.
  • Don't overdo with Artemia Mk III Purgation Flamer spamming. Ideally you should be able to complete full mission by looting once from two ammo crates. But at the same time you will be on a looting for your team and grabbing far away small ammo boxes is a good thing to do.
  • Other useful things you can and should do as good Zealot:

    1) Keep an eye on your Psyker, peel crushers and ragers from your Psyker. Listen to sound quotes and adapt accodingly.

    2) Keep an eye on what is happening behind the team, clean those specials from behind and then go back into the fray. If you are done with specials and are left with the melee chaff on you, just ignore them and run to your psyker or ogryn and they will kill them quickly for you, don't waste time on them.

    3) Loot for your team between engagements! Mark Grenades and Big Ammo for your teammates! You are one of the fastest characters in the game, so its one of your primary roles! Got an ammo crate on you? Pass it to the Veteran or Arbites (Weapon Special, while looking at them in melee range) and proceed with looting. Same situation with stims.

    Stims priority list:

  • Red(Skull) > Rifthaven Mk II Inferno Force Staff Psyker (Melt crusher waves), Ogryn (Boss damage),Zealot with Artemia Mk III Purgation Flamer (Melt crusher waves) or Crucis Mk II Thunder Hammer (Boss damage).
  • Yellow (Circle arrow) > Chorus of Spiritual Fortitude Zealot or Telekine Dome Psyker. Especially usefull for Twins fights or crazy gunner engagements to spam protective abilities.
  • Blue (>>>) > Rifthaven Mk II Inferno Force Staff Psyker is the primary recipient to get faster charging. Another really good usage is clutch resses, because it refills stamina to full and gives Block Cost reduction.
  • Green (Healing)> Universal.
