7.5-15% Weak Spot Damage. Weakspot Kills also ignore Enemy Hit Mass.
Target receives 1-4 Stack(s) of 10% Damage if already Staggered. Lasts 5s.
Your Grenades stick to Ogryns and Monstrosities. 6-15% Damage vs Ogryns and Monstrosities
15-30% Reload Speed for 3 on Projectile Weakspot Hit.
This is my favorite variation of the Tank Ogryn or Bullgryn build. It's great at boss damage, horde clearing, and crowd control but like many other Ogryn builds it has to sacrifice something in order to excel in other areas. In this case, it sacrifices special sniping.
Pros: Great Boss Damage, Horde Clear, and Crowd Control.
Cons: Very little long range special sniping, really needs a Veteran with the Survivalist Aura to do well in Havoc 30+ (though this is the case for a lot of builds).
Weapons
For your melee weapon as the Ogryn you really only have two options if you want to be optimal. Slab Shield or Pickaxe. I'd argue that the Slab Shield is the "Plasma Gun" of the Ogryn class, it takes the strengths of every other weapon type that the Ogryn has and just combines them. Additionally it can block gunners, snipers, overheads from crushers and maulers, it has great armor penetration, and it has great cleave.
For your ranged weapon I recommend the Rumbler with the Adhesive Charge and Marksman's Reflex. Blessings. Marksman's Reflex actually procs when you get headshots with your melee weapon as well, making it much better than any other blessing other than Blaze Away (which you can use if you like continuous firing blessings). If your team needs more special sniping use the Kickback or the Heavy Stubber.
Curios
For Curios I run a balanced setup with 2 toughness and 1 health. Grab Ability Cooldown, Stamina Regeneration, Health, Sprint Efficiency, and Block Efficiency. You're going to be using your ability whenever it's up so you really want as much cooldown reduction as you can get and stacking stamina benefits makes surviving much easier. On the Ogryn you want to grab at least one health curio because it's such a slow moving class that damage is almost guaranteed to bleed through our defenses.
Talents
Heavy Weight, Furious, Best Defense, and Smash 'Em are basically required on the Ogryn. This is our toughness regeneration and boss damage package. You can skip out on Towering Presence and Steady Grip if you want an extra point to be able to take something like Just Getting Started later on. I like to take Steady Grip because of the toughness regen it offers if you are clutching and need passive toughness regeneration between fights.
The reason why we go with Frag Bomb over Bombs Away is because it's just significantly better and it adds more value when combined with the Veteran talent Field Improvisation.
Soften Them Up and Loyal Protector with Valuable Distraction are the bread and butter of this build. These three nodes allow your team to do an extra 40% damage to chunky elite patrols, bosses, or weakened monsters.
Batter and Bonebreaker's Aura are must haves because of how little damage the Ogryn's Heavy Attacks do (ironically). When building down to Heavy Hitter you want to take Delight In Destruction because it synergizes with Batter. If you took Lynchpin earlier instead of Towering Presence and Steady Grip you would take Just Getting Started along with Heavy Hitter.
Get Stuck In and Bruiser synergize really well together and should be taken in every Ogryn build. Bruiser is how we use our ability significantly more in every match.
Pacemaker and Reloaded and Ready offer so much value for the Rumbler. They increase your DPS but a TON in a variety of Havoc and Auric Maelstrom situations.
Attention Seeker is completely optional, along with Steady Grip. If you want, there are 2 flex talents in this build that you can put anywhere. If you hate dealing with Bulwarks, No Pushover is a viable way of dealing with them because it allows you to break their guard with a push every 8 seconds.
