Description
07.07.2026 Build is up to date and working. Still most enjoyable H40 Ogryn build for me.
"Skitarii" patch Build HL:
Small changes:
- I opted into Foe-Rend Mk V Ripper Gun for quick CC and Special sniping and we saved 1 point because of that transition, so we got Batter + Delight in Destruction combo back. Double volley will give you ~80% Toughness back, so use that in tight situations, no target hits needed.
- Plus some small changes in the curio setup: 17T>21HP, 1 Gunner res > Sniper res (OG setup is ok too).
For OG setup with Achlys Mk II Heavy Stubber [Flak/Unarmored + Opening Salvo/ Surgical + Collateral is dump stat] swap:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lost Crusher oneshot with the recent changes, but Crusher will still fold to Charged Heavy Overhead+Light follow-up.
If you are struggling to hit heads for oneshots or want different adjustment, here is the list of viable for Branx choices:
- Frenzied Blows AS is good, but not very reliable(misses). Really good on other weapons tho.
- No Stopping Me! is a fun node for this build, but I can do perfectly fine w/o it.
- Slam + Pumped Up combo for survivability and stamina regen.
- Strongman for more defense.
- Dedicated Practice for quick sniping.
Bad nodes for Branx:
- Hard Knocks everything is dead on 2 shots anyway, this node is waste of points.
- Impactful same reasoning.
- Solo Batter pick. You are oneshotting/two-shotting anything, so bleed value is low, but still good for boss aggro upkeep (Bosses hates DoT damage). In combo with Delight in Destruction it's a good pick.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Probably best and most fun Ogryn build for high havocs, but requires time to get used to Branx timings, so I don't call it noob friendly. Pox Hound Poxburster incidents (when you are "stuck in animation") can be the norm, when you are using to Branx pacing.
If you are struggling, just pick Karsolas and spam heavy attacks, while aiming at enemy heads. But for Scab Rager and Scab Mauler aim for legs, to cleave through multiple enemies at once (Works for Branx too).

Combat:
Solo target: Heavy>Light>Loop
On Captain shields: Spam Lights
Cleave: Light>Heavy>Loop or PushAttack>Heavy(Really useful when you are in a tight situation, because it will stagger most of targets. But watch your stamina, because block break can result in a big HP loss. Use taunt to win time and recover if that happens or try dodging away).
Oneshot Mutant on charged Heavy1 headshot or on full stacks of Heavy Hitter .
Cancel combo with quick block press and you are in a state of Heavy1 again. Use that for multiple Mutant or to snipe priority targets while kiting back.
Tips for Bulwark:
While using Branx you can just enter into the shield and BONK head with Heavy1. Or try to go around on left side with Heavy2.
While using Karsolas, just keep in mind what direction next Heavy attack will go out from and try to go around Bulwark from that side and hit it with that Heavy, which will leads to an opening and easy kill.
On bosses just spam heavy attacks or try to land Heavy1 on a head if you got an opening.

Ranged alternative: Blastoom Mk III Grenadier Gauntlet ("Melee Damage" as dump stat) Unarmored/Maniac + Gloryhunter / Pinpointing target
