A build formed because I like the devil sword, and wanted to make it work on Veteran. Turns out, you can! In much the same way the Zealot does. Just slap on a boltgun, slap on tactical reload and one motion, and just run around slashing and parrying with a 'I don't like armor' button ready and waiting at all times.I've gained more respect for Survivalist to, and with the understanding that I didn't really need a lot of the talents on the left side of the final tree's, I went and grabbed it instead. Get Back in the Fight helps in a pinch too for a build that's sudo melee with the high capacity to melt. I ended up changing the build a bit to focus more on crit, so I dropped the melee damage and smoke in general for reciprocity, shred, and swapped out inspiring barrage for cavalcade while picking up out for blood to make up the toughness regen difference a bit. Shredder grenades help with that as well as the kills from them and the bleed will help your toughness stay topped off as well. Shout because shout, best ability in the game.Overall works rather well! Do miss the 10% melee damage for certain, but Rending Strikes helps make up for it at least on armored targets. Dregs can take an extra hit sometimes but it ends up working out with grenade damage flying around. Just heavy swing into the wave over and over and parry anything that threatens you (ragers, maulers, crusher, anything at all, you got shout golden HP, any bleed through gets nullified and the parries still destroy quite effectively). Will have to lean on your boltgun a decent bit more without the smokes, but that's kinda the point. Stack up Reciprocity, and just blow everything away.
