Lore:
The Nekrós Pyr are a half-whispered Company of sanctioned rogues; those who survive the Trial of Cinders, a ritual so severe it scorches flesh, nerve, and marrow until only those truly kissed by the Emperor's fire remain.
Their Accatran Mk XII Recon Lasguns are tuned far past regulation tolerances, each running a modified Heat-Sink that pumps that heat back into the next shot. The result? Each shot a needle of incandescent overcharge that sets flesh, metal, and even the very air afire. The shots burn so hot that armor becomes molten slag, softening the flesh underneath for other attacks.
Targets assaulted by this searing bombardment are then delivered to the mercy of the Pyr's roaring chainswords, whose teeth carve through charred bone and melted armor with ritual finality.
In battle, the Nekrós Pyr move like advancing wildfires - first burning those with the light of the las, then the seething teeth of the executioner’s saw, and finally the drifting ash of what once opposed them. To face the Nekrós Pyr is to be reminded that death in the Imperium does not always come swiftly… but it always comes burning.
Breakdown of Curios:
- Run 2 +16%-17% Toughness Curios to get tankier - Toughness is king in Darktide
- I recommend running a +2-3 Stamina for more mobility, however if you find it's not enough you can instead use another+16%-17% Toughness Curio in the final slot.
Breakdown of Weapons:
- Cadia Mk XIIIg Assault Chainsword: Chainswords recieved a great buff, and we also got some nice Crit Chance ramping with Shred to proc some Talents to help us increase the DOT on the Recon Lasgun. We will primarily be using this on Carapace and Flak targets that push into us, however heavy Carapace targets like Crusher will be too much for the Chainsword. In this case, use the Krak Grenade to blow through large enemies, or soften them up with Brittleness from the Recon Lasgun first then swap to the Chainsword.
- 25% Damage to Flak and 25% Damage to Carapace gives us higher damage output from the Chainsword into armored targets, which help us take those targets out faster once they get on us, as we want to be clearing flak/carapace targets as fast as possible with the sword, so we can use our Lasgun.
- Shred: Great for ramping Crit Chance for us to proc Exploit Weakness and get more damage out
- Wrath: To help us cleave through hordes and tougher enemies on higher difficulties.
- Accatran Mk XII Recon Lasgun: This weapon is great, it will constantly let us pump out infinite fast firing bullets that proc Fire DOT with Infernus and Brittleness with Onslaught, which is a debuff that will make all sources (including the fire DOT) do more damage. You can use the weapon to soften up Carapace and other armored targets with those debuffs, before swapping to your Chainsword to try and get more damage.
- +25% Damage (Flak Armoured Enemies) & Increase Ranged Critical Strike Chance by +5% help this weapon proc it's Fire DOT more, and do a little more damage to Flak enemies so you can shoot them to death quickly.
- Infernus: The core of the build, allows the Lasgun to set enemies on fire!
- Stripped Down: Allows us to completely avoid ranged fire while sprinting above 50% stamina, which helps us reposition around the battlefield easier, I love using this perk.
Breakdown of build path:
Rest of the Tree:
- Exhilarating Takedown: Since we will be shooting lots of weak enemies in the head, we will be getting another constant +15% Toughness on Lasgun weakspot kill, and a 3x stacking +10% Toughness DR, for a total of 30% Toughness DR. Great for builds like this, S+.
- Confirmed Kill: Meta on every build, always take
- Out for Blood: Since we get 5% toughness on every kill, including sources we normally wouldn't, so we take this Talent on builds that specifically specialize in getting lots of kills outside of precision headshots, or melee. In this case, it's using the Accatran Mk XII Recon Lasgun into a crowd of enemies to quickly get Toughness back.
- One Motion/Longshot : Since we will be swapping between our weapons constantly, I prefer the 50% swap speed from One Motion. However, you can get another free 10%-25% Ranged Damage if you instead would like to go Longshot.
- Krak Grenade (Blitz): Krak is great for helping clear out heavier Carapace enemies quickly when you don't have time to apply debuffs before attacking.
- Iron Will: Incredibly strong, essentially buffs your effective toughness by a ton once you are over 75% total toughness, making it harder to fall below 75% toughness. META pick for every build.
- Field Improvisation: Good support passive, cleansing corruption for all teammates and giving yourself grenades on crate.
- Survivalist (Aura): This is the only thing in the entire game that passively regenerates ammo for you and your entire team. This is in a category of it's own, run this on every single Vet build unless another Vet is (inevitably) running it. If so, bring Fire Team,
- Demolition Stockpile: 1 grenade every 60 seconds is awesome, in the middle of the tree so you can go to any Ability from it, every minute is a grenade. META pick for every build.
- Executioner's Stance (Ability): We use this to increase our Recon Lasgun's lethality into mobs and tougher targets, allowing us to cut through targets faster. You can easily swap this for Voice of Command or Infiltrate if you find it too squishy.
- Counter-Fire We aren't planning
- Precision Strikes: +30% Weak Spot Damage is great, always try to go for weakspot hits if you can.
- Fully Loaded: Flat +25% ammo capacity affects Survivalist giving more ammo every time it procs compared to without it. Very good talent.
- Demolition Team: We will be killing lot's of these enemies, so we will constantly be getting more grenades. Very good talent.
- Tactical Awareness: This Talent is one of the main ways you will generate Ability CD on every Vet build. META pick for every build.
- Reciprocity: Stacks up to 25% Critical Hit Chance by simply dodging, which you will always be doing. Amazing Talent, take if you are running crit builds and can afford it.
- Fury of the Faithful (Ability): FOTF gives our next attack insane bonuses, and allows us to charge while also using the Eviscerator's special, so by stacking this and our other buffs we are able to One Shot full health Elites, Specialists, and reposition around the battlefield quickly. Used alongside Martyrdom at max stacks and other Talents we can eek out enough damage to kill larger mobs on Auric in one hit. If you use more damage buffs stacked as well you can clear even higher.
- I only take Redoubled Zeal as having 2 charges is nice, and we proc enough crits for Invocation of Death to always be up, meaning we are only 15 seconds away from the next charge if needed.
- Agile Engagement: One of the biggest parts of the build, loops a +25% Damage buff between the Power Sword and Plasma Gun every time you swap weapons after getting a kill with the last. Clear hordes with Power Sword, then swap to Plasma to clear the heavies.
- Skirmisher: Adds up to +25% to all damage sources, including our Fire DOT, making it an amazing Talent for this build
- Onslaught: Adds up to 40% Brittleness on a target, which increases damage from all sources by 40%, including our Fire DOT.
- Exploit Weakness: You will be proccing this occasionally, giving you yet another 20% damage buff to all sources when you land crits
