Description
Synopsis:
From the shadows of the hive they emerge: the death-wreathed Sicarius Zealots of Atoma Prime who twist the Shroudfield to their will - allowing them to fell Plague Ogryns and Daemonhosts in a single strike.
Stoking their fury through the arts of assassination, they stack damage through Martyr’s Purpose, Backstabber, Time to Kill, and the layered blessings that turn each charged swing into an Emperor-sanctioned cataclysm.
While Good Balance and Against the Odds keep them unnaturally alive amid the press of foes, the tides of heresy swell too thick for the hammer’s judgment, they unleash their holy purgation of the Flamer or the precise retribution of Blades of Faith, scouring hordes and silencing distant specialists without revealing his true killing intent.
Cloaked, unseen, and burning with the zeal of the dying-but-not-dead, this stealth-born executioner becomes a walking paradox; fragile by design, lethal by doctrine, and unstoppable so long as his faith, his wounds, and his hammer are aligned in perfect murderous harmony.
Breakdown of Curios:
- We run 2 +1 Wound Curious to get the maximum benefit out of Martyrdom at max difficulties
- I heavily recommend running a +16%-17% Toughness Curio in the final slot, as Toughness is King on Zealot and will help give you sustain
Breakdown of Weapons:
- Crucis Mk II Thunder Hammer: While Thunder Hammer is a pretty lacking, it can output some insane damage if we build correctly for it, able to delete full health Monster Bosses in a single strike on Auric when we hit all the buffs correctly. As such, we take Blessings and Perks that help us reach the most damage potential.
- 25% Damage to Carapace and 25% Damage to Unyielding gives us higher damage output from the Hammer into bosses, allowing us to hit breakpoints easier in the case we miss our timings on buffs.
- Thrust and Slaughterer give us more damage on charging the hammer, and getting kills, both of which allow us to ramp up on bosses and help clear hordes.
- Artemia Mk III Purgation Flamer: META pick, TH is pretty weak all-arounder so we substitute that with the Flamer and Blades of Faith to help us deal with massive mixed hordes, and ranged specialist removal.
Breakdown of build path:
Rest of the Tree:
- Disdain: Meta on every build, always take
- Backstabber: We are going to be using Shroudfield to ramp our damage up, and as this is a starting node it's easy to pickup for a free +15% damage buff.
- Second Wind: You are always dodging, giving you constant 15% toughness regen, always take on every build
- Duellist: Same as Second Wind, you're always dodging, 50% finesse buff will always be up, always take on every build
- Purge the Unclean: 20% extra damage into Bosses and Elites (like Crushers and Bulwarks) is important for helping TH break through Auric and higher.
- Blades of Faith: Highly recommend you take these, as the build is lacking in range and mobility, so this will help you remove snipers and other pesky ranged threats without having to burn Shroudfield.
- Sustained Assault: Is always up during hordes, 20% extra melee damage is very nice and it's only 1 point from first node, always take on every build
- Desperation: We will be consuming stamina running and push attacking, giving us another 20% bonus. I usually take this on every build
- Faithful Frenzy: Optional node, however 10% extra attack speed is nice and lets you go Benediction instead of Beacon of Purity for Aura.
- Against the Odds: Increased 50% cleave and an extra 10% melee damage is very nice while surrounded, which is usually when you'd want those bonuses. I take this on most builds.
- Providence : I find this node to be an alright passive support node, however it feeds into 2 of the stronger nodes in the tree (Abolish Blasphemers and Good Balance ) AND it's the only way you get to the Beacon of Purity Aura, so I usually take it on my builds.
- Good Balance : This node gives you a constant 20% DR buff, always take on every build (if you can)
- Abolish Blasphemers: This node is great for helping into Elites, which you really want extra damage for in case you don't get a perfect hit off with your hammer
- Beacon of Purity (Aura): I find most Zealots bring the Benediction Aura, and cleansing Corruption is great on higher difficulties, all while fitting into the "support" archetype. Use this or Benediction.
- Shroudfield (Ability): Shroudfield gives our next attack insane bonuses, and TH special attack has already really high damage output, so by stacking this and our other buffs we are able to One Shot full health Monsters and Elites. Used alongside Time to Kill and Martyrdom at max stacks we can eek out enough damage to kill bosses on Auric in one hit, if you use more damage buffs stacked as well you can clear even higher.
- Take Master-Crafted Shroudfield to help give me some space after coming out of Shroudfield, and to help me clear any other large remaining enemies with the +50% Backstab Damage for 5s.
- Take Perfectionist to help cycle Shroudfield faster so we can continually pump out massive damage on single targets
- Time to Kill: This gives another whopping +50% Backstab Damage every 8 seconds. This is crazy helpful, this needs to be up in order to 1 shot bosses along with Shroudfield.
- Martyr's Purpose: We take this as we want a Keystone Modifier (they are all very good on Zealot) and this one allows us to reach Martyrdom without having to spend any extra points. Otherwise Pious Cut-Throat would be the better choice by far.
- Unfaltering: I take this in place of Thy Wrath be Swift because TH charges so slow that we spend a majority of our time in that long animation, so we want to make sure we aren't interrupted, and that it lands. Normally you can slide around to make shots land, but with how tricky it can be to land shots, I highly recommend taking this and skipping ths slides.
- Martyrdom: Up to 50% extra damage on missing health is crazy, using Shroudfield Time to Kill & Backstabber, you can do insane things. If you manage to also stack up Desperation Duellist Disdain & Against the Odds you will be outputting so much overkill damage you won't know what to do with it all.
- Maniac +6% Attack Speed per stack from Martyrdom is great for helping us counter how slow TH is
- I Shall Not Fall the strongest Damage Resistance node in the Zealot tree when fully working. Always take if possible.
