H40 TIPS

A few tips when playing the character

  • Free Safety - I've always played Zealot as an all-around, versatile class that can do just about anything and everything. You will roam around, hunt, frontline, revive, push Gunners, and kill Specials halfway across the map.
    • Be active, keep your head on a swivel, and always be moving.

  • Blades of Faith - knifing anything within 1-15 meters should be automatic. 15-30 meters should be with ~80% success. If you're not hitting this, then you need to spend time in the Pyskhanium practicing.

  • Priority List - Very often you'll see Zealots mindlessly wander around in a selfish, tunnel visioned state completely unaware of what's going on around them. Mindless wandering is a massive waste of the class.
    • Here are some guidelines:
      • Rager/Crusher/Mauler Mobs
        1. Immediately locate your Psyker and kill anything that gets close to them
          1. Prioritize your Fury of the Faithfuls here.
        2. Use Flamer
        3. Peel Away to start killing anything attacking you
        4. Pursue any other Elites attacking teammates. Backstabber, Unseen Blade, Abolish Blasphemers plus Uncanny Strike & Thrust will allow you to poke everything to do very quickly.
        5. If overwhelmed, kite, dodge and thrust. If need be run away and pull the aggro around the map until help arrives.
      • Trash Mobs
        1. Keep everything in front of you, and locate ways to maneuver around.
        2. You are attack spamming into the horde to get your Fury of the Faithul backup via Invocation of Death
        3. IF at 2 Fury of the Faithul and Elites are dead > trigger one just to get the attack speed to help with horde clear.
        4. You are anticipating incoming Specials & Disablers.
      • Specials
        • Immediately peel away to identify and eliminate.
        • Trappers, Bombers, Snipers - Anytime you play Zealot, these enemies should have a steady diet of eating knives for breakfast.
        • Hounds & Mutants - Poke to death
      • Gunners & Frontlining
        • Sprint+Slide+Heavy Attack movement glitch your way towards them.
        • Only use a Fury if you start taking damage and need to close the distance.
        • Once you close the distance they will switch to melee and you will finish them off

  • Boss Fights - As a standard while playing Zealot (as with any other character), you should take 0 damage from bosses. The only thing that even remotely touches you is Nurgle corruption. Since you're running Beacon of Purity you will cleanse it away.
    • Even if Specials/Disablers show up - as already mentioned, you should just look at it, knife it and get right back to business.

  • Clutch Revives - Zealot is one of, if not thee best revive class in the game. I've revived characters right in front of bosses and crushers just because the ~50% revive speed is that fast.

    • Reviving in front of bosses -
      1. Other than the melee twin, move towards the downed teammate, but don't get too close. You will need a clear path towards them though.
        1. IF the melee twin you will want to parry, and attack them to break shield > then go to revive.
      2. Proc aggro from boss attack. Dodge/block. Then immediately Sprint+Slide+Revive and you will revive inches away from the boss everytime.
    • Reviving in front of Crushers & Maulers
      • IF they overhead, dodge away
      • IF they horizontal swipe at you, you can tank it while reviving with the build I showcase and get the teammate up.
    • If everyone is downed
      • Dance and kite around the map.
      • Use the Sprint+Slide+Heavy Attack movement glitch to keep space and circle around. Use your Fury of the Faithfuls to close distance faster to downed allies or to flee Disablers.
        • Then identify the best teammate to pickup
          • Veteran for Shout
          • Ogryn for Taunt or Indomitable
          • Zealot with Chorus or Shroud
          • Psyker for Shield or Shriek
          • Arbites for any of their abilities
        • Don't prioritize
          • Hive Scum > They're probably the worst unless you want a dancing partner to run around the map with
      • MOST IMPORANTLY- even when you pick up another teammate > YOU will continue reviving because you have all of the revive speed.
