Description
"There was a daemonhead ritual sah... But I shot 5 times and they all fell over!"
This build uses Grenade Gauntlet and PBB to serve as an emergency DPS for the team. Pop it and clear all horde, elites, and specialists nearby when things get bad. When things are fine, Power maul specials do the job.
Strength: Extremely ammo efficient at killing a whole lot of things very fast.
Weakness: low boss damage. Slow at killing Elites when PBB and power maul special are on cooldown. Ammo dependent.
Build is Havoc 40 viable. Perfect for Rituals modifier (5 shots to the middle of the circle during a ritual will kill all cultists within a few seconds). Ideal for teams that aren't ammo hungry (have survivalist vet or 2 psykers)
Power Maul
You get your charged attack back every ~10 seconds. There will be a little chargeup sound effect when it becomes available. Try to use the Special before popping Point Blank Barrage. It should be ready again when the ability ends if needed.
Brutal Momentum: Allows you to hordeclear effectively for small stuff while saving ammo. Kill 5 trash per heavy attack instead of 1-2.
Combos:
Heavy chain: horde clear. Brutal momentum carries.
Light + Light + Heavy: Single target combo. The first two strikedown lights always chain into a strikedown heavy. Beware that sliding will change your strikedown lights into vanguard lights and the combo won't work.
Special + Heavy: Delete button.
Special + Light: Delete button for trash or if you don't have time.
Grenade Gauntlet
When PBB is up, elites and horde will die very fast. Outside of PBB, just use it to clear gunners and specialists. If you have a surplus of ammo, you can use it to clear horde or small groups of elites outside of PBB to keep the team moving faster.
The Special Attack: The special attack does a heavy melee and then shoots a point blank grenade with an even wider AoE radius than normal. It is very good in Heavy Hitter builds, but unfortunately not in this build. It can never trigger Lucky Bullet and cannot trigger the fire effects. Furthermore, an enemy dying from the heavy attack or from a teammate makes the explosion not go off which is very annoying. Its main use is to deal with packs of Bulwarks.
Blaze Away: Good in theory, but the attack speed increase from PBB makes it almost impossible to fire fast enough to keep the buff up without sacrificing accuracy.
Pinpointing Target: helps take out specialists and gunners in one shot, especially in high havoc.
Boss-killing
This build is not a boss-killing build. Its strength is in the massive AoE radius, not in single target. If there's a monstrosity, you should save PBB for if a horde or elite wave comes while the team is fighting the boss. Your job during bosses is to make everything else extremely dead so your team can kill the boss without interruption. Bosses are no problem by themselves.
Exception is if you have a great shot on a Beast of Nurgle's weakspot or if both twins' shields are down.
Blitzes
Box of Boom: Gives you a tool to stagger a bunch of things if the team is in danger while PBB is on cooldown. Upgrade node isn't needed.
Rock: helps conserve ammo and take out flamers and muties fast. Highly recommended if the team is ammo or grenade hungry. Upgrade node isn't needed.
Frag Bomb: not ideal for this build, but it's fun.
