Witness the firepower of this fully armed and operational battle station!

Update: Following the buff to Crusher HP and the game getting more hectic at highest difficulties, I went through multiple iterations trying to make the Equinox Mk IV Voidstrike Force Staff great again. Finally I found the answer from fast casting and massive amounts of damage!

tl/dr Gaze and Voidstrike nukes everything with massive damage. Mind your peril, full dump and pump make Gaze last long time! Shards for horde. Sword for stuff in face, pocket melee wizard.

Equinox Mk IV Voidstrike Force Staff the finger of the Emperor, woe be upon whom it points at

  • Warp Flurry really makes this work, the shots are rapid enough that you can control mass enemy situations in auric and havoc.
  • Surge for double shots. No need for Warp Nexus because you start off with 17,5% from class default, crit node and aura, Gaze gives additional 20% crit and True Aim adds a bit on top. This translates to >40% actual ranged crits in game.
  • Infinite cleave.
  • Knocks over anything. Also has a blast area, so you can shoot at floor to knock mobs over.
  • Primary attack is decent to spam in a hurry for precision shots on softer targets, but half charged shots is usually easier to hit with and kills smaller targets.
  • Max Quell Speed stat is very important.

Assail 

  • Backup for "lot's of stuff all over the place, no time to properly aim" situations
  • Spam light attack to erase scattered hordes.
  • Heavy attack to snipe distant sneaky specials and bunched shooters.
  • Also True Aim is wonderful for Assail as the shards naturally go for heads.

Obscurus Mk II Blaze Force Sword 

  • All around good offense and defense.
  • Uncanny Strike with Special attack goes to full stacks immediately and quickly kills any elites.
  • Slaughterer is simply one of the most powerful blessings and with Scrier's Gaze & Disrupt Destiny you can do well also in melee. (if you want bit more defence Deflector is great to control situation when melee suddenly jumps in your face while also protecting from gunners.)

  • Boosts everything the build does.
  • Lingering Influence is better for keeping high/max stacks since it's charged staff shots often hit bodies, so a steady longer lasting effect yields a better average.

Defense

Playstyle

  • Primarily caster psyker: 1. Staff 2. Shards 3. Sword.
  • Equinox Mk IV Voidstrike Force Staff nukes everything with charged shots, especially packed together and also snipes distant targets.
    • Slide-charging the stick allows for surprisingly good mobility. Basically run to every corner with a slide and a ready shot.
    • Spam charged shots into Ogryn and Rager packs to knock them over and blast them to bits.
    • Rather spam half charged shots at mobs than primary attack and gets Warp Flurry up faster.
  • Scrier's Gaze liberally, use it as soon as you have targets. With proper Peril management it will last so long that it should be ready to go again from Psykinetic's Aura procs at higher difficulties.
  • When screen full of mobs, spam Assail shards to wipe it clean.
  • Peril prevention and Quelling is absolutely essential! Empyric Resolve & Reality Anchor allow you to spam plenty of shots and shards before doing full quell (max staff quall stat is important, don't try to stay high, pure dump & pump).
  • Obscurus Mk II Blaze Force Sword for anything that gets close. If it gets hectic just hit Gaze and go full melee wizard. But try to get situation back into control and get back to casting.
